Anyone done it yet?
I?m only worried about wiring - on 8v throttlebody is by cable and on 16v its bywire.. http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_question.gif http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_question.gif http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_question.gif
Any advise, links or hints?
Best regards!

Swap engine (complete with all sensors and actuators), engine wiring loom and ecu all from the donor car. You do need to do something about the immobilizer. Without any changes the car will not start.

Ok, so the in-room loom is split from engine loom? So I can leave the in-room loom from the 8v and just plug in the whole 16v engine/loom and stuff ?
Do you have any solution for the throttlebody ?
Can immo be adapted to the car by fiat or do I have to search for a "specialist" :)
thanks !

I forgot to say you also need the throttle pedal and the wiring to the throttle pedal sensor from the donor car.
I would just buy a car with a bigger engine.

Normaly, I would buy another car - but this car (my wifes car) has done so much body modification, lowering and stuff - so I would be happy to find a solution for swapping a bigger engine in this car.
Throttle paddle and wiring is no big problem.
My bigger problem is im*o and if I get a 1.4 16V - how to map the 1.2 16V ecu..
As I found out the 1.4 16V engine (95hp) wasn?t really sold outside germany ?! It?s same as a opel engine (z16xep).
So I think the ecu from 1.4 16v can?t be compatible with the 1.2 8v/16v engineloom?

Why dont you try to find a 1.4 8v engine, I think they are just modified 1.2 engines and maybe use the same loom?.

If you want to map the ecu from the 1.2 then you would need a throttle body operated by a cable for the replacement engine.

Or I would use the 1.2 16v ecu with wired peddal? This ecu can be remapped too ?!

any one?
Now I got :
1.4 16v (843a1000) engine
1.2 16v engine loom/coil pack w. wires/
1.2 16v ecu/bodycomputer/keys (all from one car)
1.2 16v throttle peddal (I have wiring diagramm, no big thing wiring this thing up to the ecu)
The ecu and stuff will be here in a few days.
Does any one of you guys know wether the 1.2 ecu/engine loom fits the old 8v inner loom? I read 8v and 16v gauge cluster are innerchangeable.. so I think its compatible.. ?!
The 1.2 8v ecu is magnetti marelli and the 1.2 16v should be bosch motronic?! right?
Thanks!

After swapping from 1.2 8v to 1.4 16v (843a1000) engine runs "fine" but I got 2 problems :
Mileage in cluster is blinking, speedo runs like hell (shows 160km/h in the 1st gear http://www.fiatforum.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif ) and it always shows p0340 error code.. [camshaft sensor signal too high]
So I used fiatecuscan to find out whats up, and have the following problem, if I connect to dashboard, it shows correct rpm (like shown on the dashboard) but when I connect to ECU it shows only around ~190rpm @ idle (~900 on dashboard).
Does anyone know if this can be fixed by proxy alignment ?
