Your car does not have a transponder key but uses a remote system, if am right get back

They use a T13 transponder sogaro, pretty much every car (except commercial vehicles) sold in Australia since 96 have transponders.
I'm doing one next week, I will let you know how it goes. I use an original MVP-PRO though and it has never let me down, i'm pretty sure the issue will be with your cloned hardware.

I'm usinfg an AD100/T300. Here I give you the related info about your car.

VEHICLE MODEL FORESTER X, XT, XS
YEAR 96-03 MY
KEY PROG YES
LIVE DATA . . .
PIN CODE REQUIRED NO
SYSTEM OBD ONLY

KEY FOB PROGRAMMING
SUBARU

Remotes can be programmed manually as follows:

1. In drivers kick panel there are 2 white service connectors for Central Locking,
these have black and black/blue wires in them and are male/female
connectors with blade terminals.

2. Connect the C/L service connectors together and with the car unlocked
and the door shut, press the unlock button followed by the lock button on
the remote- the doors should lock and unlock to confirm remote regisatration
process.

3. Repeat operation for all remotes then remove service connector to close
the system.

Note- all keys must be present at the time of coding to prevent them being deleted

Hi Vandan69.
Turns out its a liberty coming in, not a forester .
The word on the street is that 98-03 foresters are a no go unless it's a GT. From what I gather, AD hit a problem with it that they can't solve.

REALLY must try harder and read all threads in the garage area not just the odd ones.

Not ignoring ppl, just forget/don't see that's all.

This "Word on the street" about the 98-03 Subaru, is that Austrailian street or a UK one?

The Subaru dealer in Meat-City are as dumb as ~~~~.

Was there one day, they part-ex a corsa-b they thought it was horrid
they changed the oil "2.5 litres it took boss"

Was giggling away it should be 3.5 litres dumb ~~~~s, didn't tell them

Yeah the new forum is a bit confusing, it would be nice if we could see all the new posts in each sub forum in the parent tree. Make it read only so that if people wanted to post they had to go to the correct section. My 2 cents worth.

I'm not sure if the UK and the AU models are the same. I think they all come out of Japan. An easy way is to check the VIN. It goes something like this...

1 Country of origin
2 Vehicle manufacturer
3 Vehicle type
4-8 Vehicle information
9 VIN check digit
10 Model year
11 Assembly plant
12-17 Serial number of the vehicle

Decode a VIN

VIN 1: Country of origin
1 = USA
2 = Canada
3 = Mexico
4 = USA
5 = USA
6 = Australia
9 = Mexico
J = Japan
K = Korea
S = England
T = Germany
V = France
W = Germany
Y = Finland, Sweden
Z = Italy

VIN 2 Vehicle manufacturer/make
1 = Chevrolet (Chevy)
2 = Pontiac
3 = Oldsmobile
4 = Buick
5 = Pontiac
6 = Cadillac
7 = GM Canada
8 = Saturn
A = Audi
A = Jaguar
B = BMW
B = Dodge
C = Chrysler
D = Mercedes Benz
F = Ford
G = General Motors
H = Honda
L = Lincoln
M = Mercury
N = Nissan
P = Plymouth
T = Toyota
V = Volvo

VIN 3: Vehicle type or manufacturing division

VIN 4-8: Vehicle information
(engine size, body style, fuel type, model, etc.)

VIN 9: VIN Check Digit
verifies the accuracy of the vehicle identification number description.

VIN 10: Model year
J = 1988
K = 1989
L = 1990
M = 1991
N = 1992
P = 1993
R = 1994
S = 1995
T = 1996
V = 1997
W = 1998
X = 1999
Y = 2000
1 = 2001
2 = 2002
3 = 2003
4 = 2004
5 = 2005
6 = 2006
7 = 2007
8 = 2008
9 = 2009
A = 2010
B = 2011

VIN 11: Assembly Plant

VIN 12-17: Vehicle serial number

So VIN number JTEAZ29J800168695

Tells me it?s a Toyota, made in Japan in 2008.
All we are really concerned with are the 1st,2nd and 10th number.

It seems quite basic but you will be surprised how many people think a VIN is a random bunch of numbers.

Does that include a bol*ocking for members that quote other ppl's LONG posts?

This then means you have to scroll past the same 'shit' you have just read to see two lines, saying "my brain hurts"!

OFF TOPIC:

With fear of getting a ban, i'm sure you can guess what i'm thinking!

Must admit was asleep when the football was on, did the Germans hide the ball like they do with screws?

So did you manage to programme that Subaru 'Liability' or what ever it was?

OH OFF TOPIC AGAIN:

On your next post can you say what time it is at your end, please, just woundered what the time differance is, as you have posted
7am uk time and 2pm uk time, that's all!

The time now is 6PM M-C-T (Meat-City-Time) which is 3 mins faster
than "GMT +1" as stated at the bottom of the page.

The 3 min time difference between M-C-T and GMT +1 is because
the bus drivers are shite at time keeping, gives people of Meat-City better chance of cathing a bus - 3 mins before it goes.

i clone everthing i can so i would clone this key onto a 4d or eh2 head, ive never had dramas & takes 5 mins. if programming via diagnostics use genuine blanks & everthing seems to work fine
