An lc meter is for measuring the value of inductors and capacitors.

He hopes to measure the values of the coil and capacitor and rewind the antenna coil for better sensitivity.

Basically adding or subtracting turns to the coil to get the right resonant frequency just like turning the pegs on a guitar to get the right note.

He also notes that the Chinese have redesigned the circuit to use a single microcontroller nice bit of work by the looks of it too.

I don't know how much Mileage you can get out of fine tuning the coil as introducing a keyblade remote battery etc will change the inductance of the coil anyway. There are coil guidelines for other readers over on carhelp forum.

Turns out they didn't do away with a slave MCU.

The picture on the previous page shows the Smart Zeds motherboard. The small 8 pin chip on the bottom left is infact an STC15F104 Microcontroller. I guess the cloners just reimplemented the Atmega64 functions in this smaller (cheaper?) chip.

I don't currently own a full sized ZB so i couldn't give you an honest comparison. From what i hear tho they can all be a bit picky until you find the sweet spot.

Personally i prefer how the Bianchi 883 (ipresume 884) is wound. Instead of the single coil/relay switched ZB design It has 2 coils, each one individually tuned for 125khz and 134khz.

P.S If anyone has a faulty or expired ZB they are willing to part with i would be happy to come to some arrangement :)

You are correct, v05.08 can not work with clone zb.
Update successfully zb 05.02 to 05.08, but not working & dead my zb clone :ahhhhh: :turtle:

Hi,

Your zbp to bin converter is not a correct bec when your open any zbp file you will see first 2 byte the package lenght : 01 12 after 00 12.

01 12 = 274 byte
00 12 = 18 byte

When one pckage lenght 01 12 sent then zb confirm byte is 11.

You will need decrypt these zb and ad900 update files.

So, your zbp to bin converter is correct but u need it without 01 12 & 00 12 package lenght bytes.

There is an assumption that packages in the size of 276 bytes it is data and packages in the size of 20 bytes it is a key for decoding of data. Decoding occurs already in the device of Zed-Bull.

Yes, the device encrypts the content, but for this to be a long 8byte HASP key is stored by the DS2432.

Do you have this 8byte HASP key to zedbull?

2. Read it..

hello, a problem just apiered with my zedbull mini, and i was not able to figure it out, or find it in the forum,

the device says "Could not read chip!! Not an original 42 Chip!!",
the device has been able to read the same chip a month ago, and it can read it manualy, then i press read and identify, the error only apiers when i use zedbull V508 SW on pc,already tried reinstaling on 3 pc and 2 virtual pc, no change. is it a hardware fail? and a few times it managed to say that i put a 33 chip in, when there realy was 42 chip, but after a few rereades it managed to say, that there was 42 chip.

Could anyone help ne with it? maybe someone had the same problem. btw chip looks like philips pcf79935s thailand, from Seat :)

I think the clones have a problem with the coil which fails to read some chips. I don't have one but I read it somewhere here about this problem and a possible fix. Do a search you may find a way to remake the coil.

but the main thing is that it reads the chip without pc usualy correct, but when i conect the pc i am not able to read some chips :D is the connection to pc critical for clone zed bull. its not realy a problem for me, because i have acess to tango, from monday :)

I believe the DS chip is a SECURE memory chip with the serial hard coded into the chip. So you aren't going to get the contents of the chip or be able to change the serial number of it!

You either need to use the original chip and get update files from a Chinese seller to get the tokens or buy another unit.

Greetings, dug up an old topic, but maybe someone else is interesting.
I was able to read eeprom closed atmega2561 zed bull.
It was possible to read through the game with a supply voltage, reducing , and at some point atmega surrendered, but only got to read eeprom area, flash is not given, but I think that,if managed eeprom, ie the ability to read flash ... and maybe someone out, I only gave direction ...

After I tried with ELNEC Beeprog programmer and success all of them.
That is why that i uploaded my elnec project file.

Try with the other key. If the other key is not recognised, Zed Bull might be faulty.
I tried it with ID48 reading and had no problem. ID48 can not be written although!

Can anybody help me? I've got one clone ZedBull from a friend who lost login card and there is Error code 05 on the screen when I turn on the device.
If I understood right, the solution is to upgrade firmware to version 5.02, but I can not find it anywhere. Can someone send me a link where to download it or send me the file itself as a pm?

The controller is determined provided that you have not updated your Zed Bull Mini :))) if it is not determined! There are two ways :)
1) Buy a new ATmega2561
2) Read it through an adapter and a professional programmer

Hello everyone I bought a zed bull mini clone but alas the software is unusable a load of copied & pasted software from all over the place, has anyone a software pakage that will load and work without faffing about many thanks in advance ,Baz

You must install once the setup V5.06.
The setup is the only required process you must do to get the final 5.08.
There ist no installation which goes directly to it.

A zipped version will not work because the setup must be once registered in the Operation System.

The next ist to copy the whole folder of 5.08 over the Installation an now you are ready to go.

There are many videos on Youtube.
As far as i know the chinese allready gave you a pdf with illustrations how to do this.

Thats realy not difficult. Approximately 5 minutes for installation.

Atmega is completely locked, I can't even read the ID of the chip.
Is it with the adapter qfp64 to dip40 that you are here to read and program the atmega in the ZIF socket on the beeprog?
The zif socket should work with ports for parallel programming.
It may make sense to try resetting the lock bits with an AVR doctor!

They can read chips and that is about it.

Whoever gave it the name zed bull was having a laugh because that's what they are BULL!
