if the cars does take a 4c chip then in most cases flashing is your only option.(if no master is present) from the factory ecu came with a file that was call (auto learn mode, solid red immo. light)3 keys needed to be put in the ignation 2master and 1 valet to close the learn mode system. these is the file that was given. hope that helps?

Registering New Keys to a Virgin ECM
Once the ECM has been re-flashed and installed back into the vehicle, you can register your keys (if are new) by placing the Master into the ignition, turn it until all the Instrument Cluster lights illuminate (position 2) and count to 10. Now remove the key and repeat again for the 2
nd and 3rd key. You have now all three keys programmed. If keys are used, just inserting the Master key of the set will do the job.

He is right once the key is inserted the transponder transceiver is activated this is very important to those who wish to program more than one key.(So make sure you dont turn the key) The first key will always be your Master Key and with this key you can program more Master or Valet Keys in the future. Future master and valet keys are determined by the On-Board Programming procedure.
