hi
1998 a3 non start. immo light and glow light on. no dash illumination and crazy milage showing and where trip mileage should be it has FUSE displayed instead.
car was parked up for a week prior to this with a flat battery. is it faulty clocks.? ive checked all fuses at drivers side all ok. vcds shows key not programmed but noone touched car and locksmith could not access with advanced diagnostics interface to try and recode. and help appreciated..
thanks

i asked guy same question 2 mins before i posted this query, no he said definately not.. no reason to lie i guess he just wants his car going, im thinking with the battery going completely flat it could have damaged something with low voltage, things buzzing etc as they do when the battery gets so low. maybe im wrong but strange the way it has FUSE in the display..!!
its like a internal diagnostic check of the clocks themselves or something..

Hi.
On Audi A3, A6, Allroad and TT odometer recalibration looks easy if you have Diga, Digiprog or other expensive tacho tool. But after odometer recalibration 999999km blink on odometer display!!!
Login Reader Update for A6, TT Magneti Marelli CRC repair by diagnostic (http://www.codecard.lt/immo/audi-vw/login-reader-update-for-a6-tt-magneti-marelli-crc-repair-by-diagnostic/prod_28.html)

yes i believe what you guys tell me ok i dont doubt that, but i think if eeprom is corrupt it must have done so by low voltage, guy is customer of mine no,one was near dash with correction tools..

not so sure bout that milesbetteroff , most 1998 audi ive seen have a VDO or UK NSI cluster not MM .
1) remove cluster
2) power up on bench using correct powerups
if fault is present on bench well you know its not a supply issue then .
post some pics & HW/SW nos here .........somebody may be able to help fix ........

hi
only getting back to this car now :)
anyway i got car going i bought vag k+can commander 1.4 and went to engine function and switched off immo so car starting but key light flashing so i just covered over owner doesnt mind.
but i want to correct mileage which shows 82000 some odd.
i need 120000 but i cant see mileage in kombi section it just gives me mileage in ecu section as well as immo on off etc.
but mileage is mad like 292530 or something ive tried to find someway of finding how to change these features on you tube etc but i decided id ask here hoping someone can shed some light without giving me a hard time about using search button :)

its ok dude after i left that message i bought vagk+can commander and i was able to immo off in engine special functions, i couldnt get login code in instrument bit, possibly something im doin wrong, but i didnt wanna kill clocks so i was being a little careful.
car is gone now but not correct mileage, k+can tool wouldnt read mileage in clocks either i tried all dash types even tho it was vdo wrote on back of clocks, but for 20 pounds i feel it owes me nothing already :)
this evening i went to old caddy sdi to replace ecu i brought k+can tool here also but it wouldnt id dash only ecu and i couldnt immo off so i opened ecu and swapped 24c02 at rear all was ok.
