These don't get voltage, they get grounded
Does anyone know what the digital Input voltages are...we are guessing 12 volt on a 12 volt truck due to the switches on the cruise control etc. If we used one of the input to switch to an "alternate HP calibration", i.e. #1 or #2, are there any other ramifications we need to look at?
Thanks in advance.

Perfect..Is it an isolated ground on the ecm, or can we use truck ground?
Thanks,

it should go to the ecm/battery ground. looks like wire 953. if you go into your dddl into help, DDEC II III Iv troubleshooting, scroll almost all the way to the bottom, click on vehicle wiring schematics, click on vehicle interface harness. there are 9 pages of wiring. the link for the next page will be at the bottom of current page. sheet 5-9 shows what your looking for

Found it on the wiring diagram...thanks...we were just concerned that like some of the new cummins ISX ecm's that they are isolated grounds now.

Please, again I need help with calibrations for 3 trucks with DDEC V 6067MV6E 12.7L engines:

06R0946278 (original cal 455HP 1550lb-ft)

jabkissmya, one question please: how I can find out the rating or values (HP & Torque) in the calibrations that you kindly have posted?
This because in DRS I can see the serials numbers but I don't know how to find a cross reference or can't find out the values until I calibrate them in a ECM and finally see these values when finished the calibration, sorry for maybe be so dumb...
Thanks...

jackalfa,
I can help with the above problem. Open DRS and under tools choose create calibration, then pick out which number or numbers you to create a calibration for. You will then be asked where you want to save the calibration. These calibrations can be opened with DCT, so you don't have to load them into an ECM. I learned this on DK but I can't find the original post. The thanks go to that poster. On my computer DRS opens much faster if my USB Link is connected.
jabkissmya has provided a 630HP 1800 ft-lb calibration for an off road DDEC V. It should sill be on DK. But on road and off road DDEC V engines are very different at least on the ones I have seen. The off road engine has a DDEC IV head (which means DDEC IV style injectors) and front cover. If you can't find the calibration I can put it on mediafire.

I don't think you could put a V Cal in IV ECM. DDEC V Cals have much more information in the program. I'm including links to the off road DDEC V 630 HP Cal 06R0955240. The other Cal is a 575 HP DDEC IV. As mentioned many times in related threads, these Cals probably won't make the HP without the corresponding cam, injectors, turbo and correct tuning. These Cals were provided by jabkissmya be respectful and thank him if you haven't already.
Maybe I'm wrong about the injectors being different between on and off road DDEV The off road injector #r414703007 and my on road #r414703003 the description is the same except the tip for the off road is S60 1250 flow and for on road it just 880 flow.

Hi members, I hope someone can help me with this:
there are about 5 or 6 trucks with DDEC V 6067MV6E engines, I'm trying to calibrate them with the right parameters to obtain the closest accuracy in fuel consumption: Actual Fuel Consumed vs. Electronic Fuel Consumed.
Some drivers or operators complaints, that the actual fuel consumed in tanks is not the same that the trip report reads in DDDL.
I understand that the ECM "calculates" the fuel consumption but I hope that someone can guide me how to obtain the closest real values in actual fuel consumption in the ECM trip reports.
thanks in advance. regards.

Check the file type before you save them...i.e. are they ".cal,.met,etc"
When the program looks for a file,it is looking for a certain type and only those will show. Also, make sure you are saving them in the right place...you can always change the search to all types and even tell it to look in another folder.
Sure would like to get some files for mine off of the DDC Mainframe.
Hope that helps,let us know.

Try this. Connect to an ECM, open the DDRS, with it open copy the attached file in post #270 then paste in to c/detroit diesel/DDEC Reprogram System (DDRS must be open during this prosess) now go to Reprogram ECM and select from list of cals, it should be there.:listen:

but the engine run not good and show error : injector respone time.
i think that cause sofware level.

you can take any cal version and convert it to match your ecm software, take a 39.6 cal and on convert cal tell it to convert and select your met file, I have taken a 14 liter ddec 4 cal 32.6 and converted it to 5.30 to run in high rpm 3 software, dont need a new cal just modify yours, or send it to me and I'll jack it up. Search for pw_f under name, and change it to 1.1, thats 10% more fuel, now search air_temp_of, you get air_temp_offset_boi, set all above 10dg cel to 31.75, that sets timing to max. those 2 simple changes will make your day

nonvolatile memory means ecm on the way out, probably will no longer hold mileage, speed etc. may want to get one ready, I see a lot of requests for cals for particular units, just curious reason, wanting something modified, fresh box? if need modified for something shoot it to me and tell me exactly what you want out of it can probably do. don't sweat the version guys, just convert the cal to the level you need, i have taken level 32, 34 and 39 and went backwards to level 9 for a ddec 3, just open your cal, tell it convert and pick the met file for the level you need. realy its that easy!

It's a 6V92 and the guy wants a spare ECM programmed and ready to install. There's only one DDEC II Metafile here on DK and I was curious if it's possible to put a Cal from a 2 stroke DDEC II in a Series 60 DDEC II ECM or maybe even a DDEC III or IV ECM. If it's possible to use a III or IV ECM I know a harness adapter kit would be required.

I've had this code pop on before on ddec3 ecm. I found if I reflashed the ecm to software level 9 fixed the problem for a while.

You can try a reflash and that might do it.
If not and the truck runs good without issues I
would be too concernerd. Some say that the ecm
is going out but from experience I have seen this
many times and run for years. If the codes is the only
issue I would lose any sleep over it.

you may need to upgrade to a newer version of drs depending on which one you have, so i have included drs 6.16
just extract folder to c:\detroit diesel and copy/merge/overwright files as needed.
when you run drs it will tell you it is being upgraded and shut back down, this is just giving you the new server updates to install new ecm versions. Click program, if truck does not have a matching serial to whats on you list, it will let you select from a list what you want to program and you should see all serials you listed plus 06R1999999. this is the turbo actuator program for use with dddl 6.44 and higher. save all accumulated data before programming. as it might loose all accumulated data during reprogram.

I downloaded this cal file onto a DDEC V engine yesterday and it was terrible. DO NOT USE AS IS. The power was decreased and it was derated. This cal file is NOT recommended for use as is. It still needs a lot of work.
That Cal is the 515hp turned up 14%, and torque up to 1800 ft-lbs. No EGR. I wan that for over a year, bought the Nexiq because I wanted to tweak more for fuel mileage.
If you really had problems check your I/O. The only way for that cal to cause a de-rate would be you didn't change all the i/o to match. Or if you did and you added The VNT or or EGR Valve Outputs back in to that cal.
Also- If you are not changing the turbo, you have to manually set the position of that VNT.
I have made a few changes, and am going to run this adaptation for awhile, (see attached) Ive gotten good numbers out of it.
Long and the short of it, there is nothing wrong with the cal, the current is a little better, but if think just a cal will make your EGR worries dissapear, well not gonna happen. I have two Owner operators leased to me that I just manually set their VNT, My truck (where the cals come from) has a new Exhaust manifold and normal turbo but i spent an extra $4000 for them.
And a note on the original cal - The guy that took EGR out of my engine to begin with has more happy paying customers than you have posts my friend. He can't ride around in your truck for 2 months to tweak every little item to perfection (thus why I bought the box) I send people to him constantly and recommend his work. I helped out 2 guys leased to me otherwise i'm only working on my truck, I'm not in the diesel dr business, i'm in the trucking business. I've gotten good info and software here and have tryed to give back what I have.
So if you are really having trouble with it ask, before you assume it's no good. I'll be happy to help you get it working properly!

Thanks for the response! Yeah, I didn't have time to do any tweaking so basically I just threw the calibration on their and wasn't able to set the truck's I/O settings. It was for a customer that wanted an uprate and I was just testing your cal file out first to see how it performed. I guess it doesn't work that easily on Detroits like the EGR delete works on the ISX's.
Anyway, I appreciate the current file you've just posted and I'll see what I can do with it next time a DDEC V comes around. I may just have to end look into borrowing one for a day from a local truck shop or something.

Hi m8.
Got a truck that is coming into the shop today that had an automatic transmission replaced by a manual tranny. The problem is that the owner complains of low power output (truck not pulling its weight). I know with cummins engines this can be solved with a recalibration of the engine ecu to exclude auto transmission features in the ecm program and changing to the appropriate gear box transmission ratios. Is this the same with detroits or do I just have to disable the automatic transmission features I/O without the need for recalibration? The engine serial number is 06R0574998 so if some1 could post a suitable calibration for this without the auto-transmission feature I would be most appreciative...

Donnie,
No,the detroit is nothing like cummins. It doesnt matter about the setting, they should stiil pull 100%.Make sure the vss is reading inthe ecm. Many times the auto and manual have different config. If not reading in ecm may be throwing a vss derate.

Use ddrs to change ecm for manual transmission, it's easier. if the vss is not working it will limit rpm. I just did 2 of these. the vss wiring is usually up ontop of the trans tied up and capped off. just get the right vss and plug it in.

Setting the VNT requires some mechanical knowledge. Also, it would be easier to just remove the VNT turbo and install a regular non waste gated turbo and be done with it. If you manually set the VNT turbo, you have to adjust it as you increase altitude (mountains).
you need ddec v release 3 metafile, i have attached to this message.

To adjust the VGT on DDECV with EGR enough already understood as doing.

very true, but dial back the table in the smoke limited torque (see the cal I posted) and it will fuel at the low rpms, thus building boost. The stock turbo can be set up for high performance, but then I always lost atlease 1 MPG at road cruising speed due to backpressure it creates. Maybe that's just my engine...

Anyone knows why an ecm do not keep the settings in DDEC Data after sending the change to the ecm?
It seems that the ecm do not have activated this settings, but after trying to activate this setting the ecm don't keep the changes. When I turn on and off ignition the ecm don't keep the changes, the ecm don't save reports. thanks.

So i've decided that having to copy the cal and unit files every time you open the DDRS 6 program was too cumbersome. I've created a batch file that you can just point your DDRS 6 shortcut at and it will open the program and do the copy automatically. You will have to edit / create directories as necessary for this to work because your computer is probably a little different from mine. What I did was go into C:\Detroit Diesel\ and create a new folder there called DDRS Cals. (c:\Detroit Diesel\DDRS Cals) Then inside that I created 2 more folders, 1 called Cal and the other called Unit. Just unzip all the calibrations you download from here into those folders. You'll notice I've attached a Test1.txt file as well. This file is what the batch program uses to do the copy. Put it in the newly created C:\Detroit Diesel\DDRS Cals\Cal folder and forget about it. The batch won't work without it being there. It's pretty self explanatory though, so I'm sure you guys won't have any trouble!!!
Thanks for everything!

you may need to upgrade to a newer version of drs depending on which one you have, so i have included drs 6.16
just extract folder to c:\detroit diesel and copy/merge/overwright files as needed.
when you run drs it will tell you it is being upgraded and shut back down, this is just giving you the new server updates to install new ecm versions. Click program, if truck does not have a matching serial to whats on you list, it will let you select from a list what you want to program and you should see all serials you listed plus 06R1999999. this is the turbo actuator program for use with dddl 6.44 and higher. save all accumulated data before programming. as it might loose all accumulated data during reprogram.
i installed the program succesfully, but when i run it a message pops up says ( can not find root in directory) what am i doing wrong?

No ddec5 with 550 on egr, only 515 with 1650
You can modify the fuel map with calibration tool and set a greater pulsewith to the injector in the rpm you like but you have to know what your are doing because you could get and old Mack calibration instead of get more power is you extract the .cal file a can help you to get more power, it's not enough change rating horsepower setting you have to set a new pulsewith in order to get more torque or horsepower, it's depends in what point of the curve you set a larger pw.
I post a picture to explain better what I want to say195968195969
If you raise at 1200 you get more torque, but if you raise a 1800 or more you get more power, but if you raise more than 3 points you get black smoke because you have to modify turbo settings to get more volume of air inside the combustion chamber and more air cooling to increase air density. Best ways to accomplish this is put the truck in a Dyno and start to modify the injection curve.
If I help you hit thanks ***128521;

engine model is 6067bk60 but any calibration from a volvo will give me what I need. All I want to do is look at the inputs and outputs to make sure I have them right.
