I didn't even know that Chinese have 5.14 version. But, again, it looks different than original. I know some clones which are 99,9% same as original (Only sticker on it is different)...

P.S. And also updateable. From first v5 until 5.17. No problems.

I tried to write new odometer value and press write, but nothing happened:hmmmm2:
I use it only for EDC 16 ,for skoda i have VDP ...

After update I cant connect to any module. I tried with the old softwarev5.14 and it's OK. Changed odometer on edc16 golf 5.

Do you can read the pin code?? maybe were visteon dashboards... this dashboards were identify like VDD??

I can read the pin code and all other info, but for me the Write button dont work on any car.

Got one from neightbour to test,coz he had no connection to ecu s ...

Me too had no connection to edc15,seat dash,audi dash...

How to login and learn keys...if youre unable to connect...jejeje..

I've been told there was a procedure to update it from 5.14 when we have the chinese version... anyone aware of this ?

I tried the automatic update but the interface doesn't read anymore.

I downgraded to 5.14 again and everything is working.

Any help would be good.

For K line cars is vag dash com, vag dash can is only for CAN cars,
about this version I come back to the 5.14 because 5.17 works bad with my chinese device.

I received my VagDashCan 5.14 clone from the source mentioned in this post and it does not work with Bosch RB4 crypto..

When I update to 5.17 the interface will not read.. Is there a procedure to update the clones? I needed this darn thing for RB4 Bosch Crypto repair.. It really does me little good for all of the other stuff.

Not true. VagDashCan also supports protocols on K line! How can then read EDC15 if doesn't support KWP protocols?

BTW a lot of Chinese VDCs you can't update to newer version, but good thing is that you can make downgrade...

It supports KWP protocols but it doesn?t make K lines cars, only there are a button for edc15 and I tried with a lot of car and I never see it working fine.
Maybe is problem of the clone, I don?t know, but for K-line is not good idea buy a clone of vas dash can.

in the begining it was for CAN only. First release of original interface has no k-line transceiver placed...later versions got it because edc16 in T5 use k-line and same in A4 8E.
So yes it supports K-Line for edc15, edc16 and me7. Only dash via K-line is RB4 and RB8 ALL other K-line dashs need vagdashcom.

Bad clone? I have clone device which is working from first V5 up to 5.17 without any problems, except 5.14 but that was because software. Now with 5.17 work flawless...

So the 5.14 software is the main issue here? Does anyone have or can post a previous version? I can't use v 5.17 or 5.16. I'm wondering if any previous versions will work with the Red/orange 5.14 clone from China. The 5.14 does not work with the RB4 Crypto. Not sure if its version specific, but the Crypto cluster is listed in other versions.. Does it work? I'm confused.. Why have the cluster there as an option if the interface/software doesn't work with it.

5.14 buy an orange interface of vagdash can and install it,
I run three times and stay stuck reading a audi RB4.
now I can not get to plug into the USB port on the pc to detect it.
the program does not open and less work,
you have some experience with this problem?

First of all, VagDashCan v 5.14 had a lot of bugs in it. One of the bugs was that it would not work with RB4 crypto, but also corrupt the EEPROM when trying to read. This would render the rescue file empty as well. Having said that 5.14 will not work with RB4 and do more damage than good. I returned my orange interface and picked up a 5.17 interface that is also buggy but works fairly well with RB4 and RB8.

As to your USB detect issue...If you have upgraded to the latest 5.17 version it will not work with the orange clone. Downgrade to 5.14 and it should be ok...hopefully.. My orange interface was after downgrade.. However, that still doesn't solve the RB4 issue for you. Return the interface if you can and get your money back, which is very hard with the Chinese.

Glad to hear PETERALC506 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/members/65381-peteralc506/). I purchased the interface to strictly work with RB4/RB8. It totally crashed the RB4 I was trying to rebuild and failed. I was mad and emailed the seller and kept pressing that its sh*t and not only it did it not work, it damaged the cluster further. I was lucky because after a long battle and shipping the interface back to China the seller returned my money. The problem was not only the interface, but the 5.14 software that had issues with RB4.
