HI GUYS , MY QUESTION IS HOW CAN I FIND PIN CODE JUST HAVING A LOOK IN BINARY FILE OF ECU, I HAVE TOOLS TO FIND THE PIN CODE IN 55 IMMOS, BUT I'D LIKE TO KNOW HOW CAN I FIND THE RIGHT PIN CODE WITHOUT USE TOOLS, JUST OPEN THE DUMP AND CHECK THE DUMP WITHOUT ANY TOOLS,

THE PIN CODE SHOW LETTERS DIFFERENT?
THE PIN CODE HAS COLLORS DIFFERENT?
THE PIN CODE IS SHOWED 3 TIMES IN IMMO?
SOMEONE CAN HELP ME , EXPLAIN THE PROCESS ?

You might be able to find the location of the pin by searching the dump for the known pin like you have. Although the pin may not be stored so easy in plain sight. It might be split in half the bytes might be reversed might be modified by XOR or other means.

The pin could be stored in a million different ways etc.. theres a reason why original tools cost so much because things aren't always easy to work out!

But in the TMS case I believe the pin is stored in the dump 3 times so all 3 location should be fine.

my intention is find pin code in ecu like bosch me 7.5.10
bosch me 7.5
bosch me 7.5.20

so are there ways for find the right pin code or it's impossible, how can we know the right position of pin code in dump ?

Search for known pins and see if you can find them in the dumps... anything more complex and you probably wont be able to else you probably wouldn't need to ask how ;)

Hi m8s,

I'm just trying to make my way thru immo decoding in the way paul describes. I'm just downloading the dumps, then recalculating the pin (dec) into hex and then looking for it in the dump to find the adress. up to now mainly VW/audi and Peugeot is my playground. I'll make a list with my findings in the next days and would really appreciate any similar effort, thanls.

hi
you can use same program as ICC (immo code calculator).
icc can extract the pin from dump automatically for wide rang of car.
