The ford IDS extranet is no longer to be used .

Following Zhejiang Geely Holding Group's acquisition of Volvo Cars from Ford, all
Volvo Cars applications hosted in the Ford network will be moved to the Volvo Cars
network during the upcoming months.
In order to be able to login to the applications that have been transferred, it is necessary
to create a password valid for the Volvo Cars network. The Ford password will
still be needed to access applications that have not yet been moved from Ford's
network. During the transition period, both the old Ford password and the new Volvo
Cars password have to be used.

Starting VADIS for the first time:

Click your start menu and locate VADIS. Start the program. A window will appear prompting you to enter a user id and password.


User ID: SYSADM
Password: NQZ5-XC3E-P8HD-A2SUPassword must be written exactly as above, dashes (-) included. After you?ve entered the information above, do not press any keys. Instead, use the mouse to click the button to the right labeled ?System Configuration?.

Here you must create a new user.

User ID: - Enter a name between one and eight characters.
Password: - Enter a password between one and eight characters.

The below options are:

User Language
- Language that will be used for the user. What you can select here may vary depending on your install (CD, DVD, etc).

Information Types
? What information the user should be able to access. Press ?Select All? or pick individual components.

Partner Group
? Select Volvo Cars Europe or International Misc.

When the above steps are completed, click ?Create New User? and the user name will appear in the top left list.

Configuration is now complete, press ?OK? to continue.



NOTE:
When you try to install Vadis and get a prompt for Client ID #, Security # and 2 others,
Hit custom install, the first prechecked box is for a program called security letter.

Uncheck that and the problem is gone.After Install:

Find file 'C:\info\vvindex\ini\cdinfo.ini' (assuming you installed to C: )

- Go to properties and uncheck the read only box (remember to go back when finished and check the box for read only again)

- Open the file and change the values ?WarningDays=150ExpirationDays=180? to 3600 & 3650 respectively

- This will give you ten years use without resetting the date on your P.C.

Hi Iroll, thank you. I know that, but there are so many comments posted on the net about VIDA, and some have said this worked for them, I thought I would post it here. It was meant to confuse anyone. It's clearly marked VADIS.

The last part of my post might be useful:


After Install:

As I know , W7 32bit Pro only or XP pro IE6 to 8 .. for 2011A

The Vida Certification system run file is first and then runs a second check while installing, on 2011B and the same OS as the previous version.
Now 2011 C & D are to be the computer hardware used for VIDA might have to
be upgraded or replaced before installing VIDA 2011C. VIDA 2011C is currently planned to be released in September.
The VIDA Certification Agent that runs in the beginning of every VIDA installation will be updated starting from VIDA
2011C to meet the requirements .
Changes made to the VIDA Certification Agent are as follows:
1 - It will not be possible to install VIDA if the computer does not have 2 Gb or more of RAM
2 - It will not be possible to install VIDA if Internet Explorer 8 has not been installed.
3 - A warning will be displayed in the beginning of the VIDA installation if the amount of free disc space is between 20-
30 Gb. The VIDA installation will, during the calculation of free hard disk, include the size of the VIDA folder and
calculate that space as free disc space.
Note- the VIDA Certification Agent will be updated in the future to stop the installation of VIDA if the available free disc
space is below 30Gb.When that will be done has not yet been decided.
Users should already be considering a computer upgrade if they are at the minimum 30 Gb requirement of free disc
space. DVD's will be Duel layer 8.4 GB.

I've installed VIDA 2011A on XP SP3. It runs very slowly. And crashes (hangs) if I want to work with work list or part list.

Also those with shared RAM for the Video , If your at the limit , when the Vidacert checks , you will get a fail.
