Hello there, is there a way i could get some clarification about North American and Mexican Chevrolet Cars, such as the Cavalier and the Chevy C2, for example.
Can they be diagnosed in any way? or is there any software like GlobalTIS that covers their repair?
If so, which tool should i buy, for example cars models '95-'07 or something.

Snapon probably has a good coverage at least for the USA cars. Maybe others too.
Ask for a demo from the local salesmen.
At the very least you can read the engines and gearboxes from the USA cars from 1996 on with OBD2. Don't know if the Mexican cars will have that too.

But isn't there any original GM (TIS) software that'll do that?
Someone mentioned SCAN-100, will that do?

Tech2 Scanner and SI2000 info should cover you on ALL NAO cars up to 2007...not sure about the Imports into Mexico..But with a Tech2 scanner and a spare card, you could make a trip to local dealer(gm) and copy from there T-2 card to yours...Tools.> Copy Card.
May cost a few dollars more to ride at the front of the bus with a Tech 2..but may pay off in dividends when BCM-SRS diagnostics etc ...programming is needed...

No idea about Mexico car. But all U.S cars after 1995 to current come with OBD2 interface. Therefore, it is up to you how much you can afford( $25 to $9000). Elm 327 usb..p.c base (about $25.00) is the cheapest I can think of. Lots of fun for the starter with this tool plus it covers what you need for GM and other cars. Here is some thing you might need to use with elm usb
ScanMaster ELM v2.1.104

If you need a little bit more deep scan You use this software...http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f152/scanxl-professional-v3-2-a-179622/
Sure if you want better and more coverage, there are so many selection...Actron, Autel, AutoEnginuity, GM Tech2, Mac, OTC genesis, Snap On Modis and so on. And they all cover what you need. It depend on how much you want to spent and what coverage you really need. PM me if you have problem installing in pc.

Thanks for the comprehensive post, but at this point, the tools thing has been cleared up really good for me, but now the second question remains; Is there some kind of TIS i can find for these NAO Cars?

Edit: No, I don't want links/access to the Garage, I just want names and versions.

TIS 2000 is the programming-tool update--older , also has graphing..and save files-browse, snapshot from your Tech2. Tis2Web is new Web based deal
Service Information 2000 SI 2000 went to 2007 and has service info..it is a DVD..last version..all over the net..Good Luck !
Just be aware GM is becoming like everbody else..change internal part numbers on modules to MAKE you go to Tis2Web and PAY..when using Tis2000...

Mexican cars like GM C2, Zafira, Meriva, Astra etc you'll find covered in Opel Tis, you may have to search a little bit but it works.
the daewoo based models like aveo, optra etc you'll find in GM-europe, again you'll have to look for the right names and models, but it?s all there.

Thanks, I got BOTH GlobalTIS (Tis2Web DVD Backup) and TIS2000 (Just in case?, G-TIS now supports SPS, Update to the Tool and MDI Emulator)
Also I'm already downloading C-TIS Europe, which covers a few more cars. Guess that's all I need right?

Edit: I think i'm gonna be needing some help to get SI, i found out it's called Techline eSI, but nothing newer than '05. Any tips?
