Dear Dkians,

I have a VW Phaeton at my garage now! O_o (pretty impressive car)

Inside the dash there is this suspension light constantly on! I've checked the trouble codes (with autodiagnos and VCDS) and i got an error: 01767 It says something about the wiring of the front left shock absorber!
Besides that, the car can't control the level of the shock absorbers! The regulators(inside the cabin) don't work!

Can anyone help?
Is the ecu of the suspension problematic? Do i have to change the whole front left absorber? Or just that sensor near the absorber!?

Thanks in advance

Most likely it's the Front Left level sensor or the wiring.

Well i'm suspecting a short-circuit..... but... there is a long way to check it! :P
So, you don't think it's the whole shock absorber?

The problem is that i can't even code the control unit of the suspension! I enter the default code and it's not accepting it!
I think it's the ecu of the suspension! what do u think?

Hi

Have you looked at this may be it could be helpful in other ways

I've tried that and it's not accepting the 31564!!!
Besides that, i've searched the wiring that goes to the suspension! ohh and i can't find the location of the ecu!! O_o

I've changed the ecu and the front left lever sensor and the trouble code is still ON! :O

It says short circuit to the front lever sensor (Code 01767 and after that the 007 short circuit with ground)

What should i do? This car is veryyyyy tricky!

check wiring? Maybe leak in system?

a leak? what do you mean?
Man, the wiring goes in the cabin! How the heck i'm supposed to follow it? ;)

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have a Bentley Continental GT 2004 (practically the same car) have replaced the checked wiring, replaced level sensor and tried a new suspension leveling ECU but still the same code! It must be something trivial?

Mate i never had the chance to fix the problem myself since client grew uneasy! A dealer fixed the problem (client is a friend and he told me)... as i was searching at the front part ,,, dealer changed two used rear whole pneumatic absorbers and the car was ok.

I dunno why and can't explain it but that's what they did

That was what I was thinking next. As if the shock absorber wasn't inflating the suspension the module would assume the level sensor is reading incorrect. Just seems a bit strange though. I'll report what the end result is. Unfortunately it's my own car so can't send it to the dealer!!!

Had a phaeton in for transmission change about 2 years ago, then had a number of strange faults appeared
turned out to be electronic engine mounting. just out of interest any idea what this mounting is used for, I can
only assume to sense engine torque to control engine \ transmission \ and poss suspension. nice car to drive but
we were glad to see the back of it.
