Hi everyone
The car is a 2004 Peugeot 307 HDi 1.6 110 Bhp, the engine runs really rough and when it warms up it smokes really bad, the smoke is white and smells diesel!
So far:
the Turbo was changed, the injectors ( twice ), the fuel HP pump, the timing belt, the tank was removed and cleaned, and still nothing, the same shit! it still smokes white and stinks of diesel!
We have done a diagnostic check with planet and here are the faults coming up: ( see attachement )
Also, the strange thing is:
on the diagnostics, under, engine ECU parameters, the option thats says: cylinder injector flow correction, it shows low values like 0.59 %
on my own 307 HDi which runs fine, i have checked the parameters and it shows 100.62 %
Can someone please explain to me what this means, i have included photos from the diagnostic screen of the faulty car and the good car for you to see
1st picture is the bad car, 2nd picture is the good one
What could be the problem with this car?
Thanks

any fault codes ?
engine management light is ON and the scan results are in the post above ( see attachment ), nothing obvious that would cause this problem ??
thanks

hi, thanks for the info
the HP pump has been replaced and the fuel pressure seems right according to "Parameters" values in Planet diagnostic.
the engine runs as it was firing on only one cylinder

High mate,
as you mention pump and t-belt change, recheck the timing, sounds like timing off. I'll attach a little more info on "white smoke"
White smoke is caused by raw, unburnt fuel passing into
the exhaust stream. Common causes include ..
? Incorrect fuel injection timing
? Defective fuel injectors
? Low cylinder compression
Low cylinder compression may be caused by leaking valves, sticking piston rings, ring wear, cylinder wear, or cylinder glaze.
When white smoke occurs at cold start and then disappears as the engine warms up, the most common causes are fouling deposits around piston rings and/or cylinder glazing.
Continuous evidence of white smoke indicates a mechanical defect, or incorrect fuel timing.
Water entering combustion spaces will also create white smoke. Faulty head gaskets and cracked cylinder heads or blocks are a common cause of water entry .. unfortunately, expensive mechanical repair is the only proper solution here

AS above. Check compression and camshaft timing. If you can get glowplug adapter, then compression test should be easy.

EGR valve and glow plug/s are no good. Air temp sensor in the dozer valve is probably covered in gunge or is dead based on your fault codes

we had some DFM come in - don't like, punched him in the face, took him to ~~~~ off - but he has a simular problem, they even changed engine out of another car - that ran (crashed) - was thinking (when got his teeth out my knuckles) - see if KWP2000 could suck ecu map out, and ~~~~ it up even more

yes but that wont cause the engine to smoke like that,

did you fit new injectors

did you fit new injectors
Not new, they are second hand, they came out from a 307 that covered 28.000 miles
I have also, programmed them with the serial number...

Does the vehicle looses water, check the expansion vase for traces of oil, and chack also if the level is correct. In case you have some doubts, remove the oil/water cooler and inspect it. White smoke is a sign of water loose.

I have had problems when swapping these injectors from different vehicles, you can take a good set from one car but once transferred, 2 can fail, white smoke is not only caused by water loss, maybe test injectors ?

..injectors 2 and 4 are out of normal operating...pics 1 and 2 are not from same engine managment...on the pic 2 are two regulators, flow regulator and pressure regulator...on the pic 1 is only one..

Hi, picture 1 is from the 307 1.6 HDi with engine problems ( white smoke smelling diesel ),
picture 2 is from my 307 2.0 HDi with no problems
i have added both of them here for comparison purposes

I have the same problem with my Bmw E 65 3.0d It smokes heavily on cold start and the smoke stops when the engine is hot.The engine works wonderfully well.
I want to go along the lines of suggestion in this tread to recalibrate the nozzles but i do not know the break pressure for the Bosch common rail nozzles.
i want to check the EGR but do not know the location of the EGR.
I will appreciate it if anybody out there with this information can help me.
Thanks in advance
