hello to all mates....in my garage i have a bmw conversion car 320 e36.....
lets start...the customer put the engine on the car and the whole wiring....he told me that when he switched ignition on and start the car the car worked properly(i dont believe him)....after 2 days when he went to start the car the car didnt start.....only ignition on and cranking...then he brought the car to me..i checked the wiring and is good.... i took it out(the wiring) and tried giving exta -31and +30and+15 to ecu but nothing....i tried with other crankshaft sensor but nothing...i have no diagnosis to the car....i took the ecu and i opened inside i found 27c512 i took a new 27c512 and programmed with a file found here......i put it to the car and the car started for two seconds and then stop...and until now nothing......my ecu is siemens 5wk9002 ms40.1 1703808......has this ecu immo??if the car has bad camshaft sensor is there any reason not to start....??any opinion appreciated

Don't know about immo on these, but some of BMW use camshaft sensor as main engine speed recognition sensor and crankshaft sensor only as reference sensor(systems like Siemens 41). They are running and starting without crank sensor, but wont start without cam sensor.
I would fit new cam sensor before go any forward.

No. Couple days ago i had one e39 with MS41 engine management system with poor starting problem. Found completely dead crank sensor(Hall sensor).
Have seen this before, just can't remember now on which models.

What does the key look like? The early laser cut keys have no transponder chip inside, hence no ews

if it is EWS immobilised it will not crank (std wiring)
earlier drive away protection would crank
cut /paste

early drive away protection 1993.

Principle of Operation
When the vehicle is locked from the outside, a High signal is sent to the GM from the door lock switch.
The GM receives this High signal and outputs a High signal to the DME.
The circuit from the GM is spliced into an existing circuit from the BC to the DME.
A High signal from the GM (or BC) causes the DME to cancel the fuel and spark functions to the engine resulting in a no-start condition.
The vehicle must be unlocked with the key or the code function of the BC cancelled for the DME to allow engine operation.
