hello all,
locksmith newbie here,
just got my ZED 5.08 up and running (i hope its running right).
tried to copy a mits shogun 4d-62 into TPX2 chip.
Zed says "SUCCESFUL".
read again the TPX2 and i think, yes it copied the 4d-62.
it has now the same data with 4d-62.
tried it on the car, but did not work.
checked with x-431 and says"ID not Equal"
tried to program the new key into immo but says "KEY # 81"
i have read from somewhere that 81 means chip not compatible? or is it just the China ZED cannot do 4D's
is copying from ZED stand alone and copying via pc the same?
:giveup:need some enlightenment from a more experienced friends out here.
thanks!!!

When you copied on to the tpx2,did you lock the tranponder?if the answer is no u have to lock the chip,if you locked and still doesnt work, you need someone with tango,or simmilar tool to do it for you ,since zbull is not 100% with toyotas!.

China ZED BULL cannot copy tex/cr 4D,
I think he just copied- Pg1,Pg2,and Pg3
it is not copied- Pg4.

thanks key,
Pg4 value is "00"
can't we just put in a random value in Pg4?
and then program it in the car's immo?

If you are going to program the key in anyway wouldn't it be easier / cheaper just to use a new 4d 62 chip to start with ?

that was i'm thinking of before i bought the ZED,
get a new 4d62 for mitsubishi and programed it into the immo, but it did'nt worked. immo not acccepting the new x'ponder.
"ID not Equal"
this car has lost all its keys.
i borrowed another key from a friend and programed it into immo, and it worked.
so i thought i will have just to clone this key.
i thought it was that simple:(

Your money would be better spent on the original ZB.

Any price is only relevent to where you buy it from and where you live.
You've already asked in another thread and been given a link.. find you local distributor or search on google, really not that hard to find answers yourself.

ok, so why not get a key from scrap yard - programme that or ebay and ~~~~ it off.
Somebody said Toyota - is it the same as mitibushi?

i agree with you workdamnyou.
and i really love to get the original one.
but unfortunately exchange rate roughly is 1 euro = 70 pesos
so, if i can find an original at ?1,600,00
this would roughly be around P112,000.00.
wow!!! this is a lot of money in my country.
anyway, i am really trying to save for the originals.
i am also very lucky with the seller i bought it from.
because he offered me a full refund all expense paid,

hi Meat-Head
i have been all around ebay, but all i can find are 4D61 transponders. i needed 4D62
and we really don't have that much scrap yards from where i am.
Thanks friend!

OK - your a little 'desprate' on this one - if you have the time and the tools - perhaps you could have a little play.
On the VW Gulf (so search by Lupu_Sandu - maybee Patrain) - there is an file for VW Gulf that does not need the transponder keys.
Sadly not good info there is talk on a Honda thread about changing the last 4 things of eeprom dump to 00 00 to make that ignore the keys.
Perhaps you could go play with yourself.
Could you get immo box and ecu and key from scrapyard.
OR
See if you can use your dump in another immobox off scrap yard.

thanks Hanukkah, will give you a ring later.
first, i have to share this to all,
i bought 2 keys from apollo-auto,
labeled MIT8 and MIT11 and it just arrived.
is this what they call electronic head? "attached image"
read it with ZED-china and mit8 = 4d60, mit11=4d62.
and both seems to have already data on it, so i tried to program it into the immo.
now i am confused, mit11 which is 4d62 was rejected and mit8 4d60 was accepted.
the borrowed key which worked on this car was 4d62.
anyway, its good that the car already runs, BUT still i really wanted to understand it.
Edit: PS: to Hanukkah, no i have no reader for now. can you recommend one "not so expensive" for me?

Oks no problem. Call anytime. Anyway, I think its better to get the "battery less" key head using only transponders. Its an ugly situation to be when out on the road and "electronic key" battery suddenly goes kaput. =)
ETL has standalone reader for that, but will have to confirm first as they have an errata regarding that mcu mask.

Battery less transponders are always better. No fun being stranded.

Agreed, imho battery powered heads are unacceptable in this day and age.

I may have missed this, but has anyone tried to use this with AD900 or Zed clone?
