Hi Guys,

Theres a 2005 Nissan Micra here. There's no communication with the airbag ECU. - I've tried 3 diagnostic tools, but no luck with either...

The airbag light goes on immediately after IGN. is on, and it will not extinguish. (As even if there's a fault it should go out and then light up again...)

I've checked the wiring (there are no split wires), cleaned the earth points, checked the +12V at the airbag ECU connector and they are all good. So it seems like the ECU is not responding.

Is there anything I could do with this (I mean: check MCU dump...) or should I find an other airbag ECU?

I Don't have much experience with this module, see if you have one of the following on the board:

68HC11E20 \ 68HC912B32 \ 68HC12D60

It has an MC68HC12D60 on the PCB.

There is a nissan micra airbag module, all universal tools can,t communicate with this module, only nissan consult and wurth diag tool can handle. I`m sure airbag module is working god. Post dump, we erase dtc, if all igniters are ok, there be ok.

I know what you mean, but the airbag light should operate like the first if there are no stored DTCs, and it should operate like the second if there's a stored fault.

Mine acts like the third, which is in the red rectangle:

The Micra workshop manual gives the following steps to diagnose the fault, when the airbag light is steady on:

I've checked the wiring, checked that +12V and GND is present in the airbag ECU connector.

Also, I've tried to check the DTCs via the airbag light, as described here:

But it will not do anything.

So it's 99% sure that this airbag ECU is ~~~~ed....

I've attached the dump from the Motorola MCU. Could you please check that (btw. I've loaded two different dumps - which I found here on DK - onto the MCU, but with the same results as with the original dump)

You have right your dump is god, in this case unit is corrupted.

Did you save original dump, if so try writing it back to the unit and see if it communicates, I have had several bad dumps that cause unit not to communicate.

i dont know what type of scanner are you using but in mine (x431 master) there is a function in this car to read all systems and then select the system you want to cnnect to.

check if you have this function and see if the car identify the system at all, if it identify the airbag system and u have no communication then your software is not up to date or not supporting this module, if it doesnt recognize airbag system at all, check connections and supply voltage to the SRS module.
