Work with what ALL the ecu's in vehicle or just engine, if its just engine I should think any 30 quid scanner will pull codes

Maybe an OTC genisys with the right cable, CF & smart car will do the job

You need a tool for Dodge or a REAL tool for Dodge? if its a tool, any like Launch X431, Autoboss, Snap on will suffice but if you need a REAL tool, then you are stuck with dealer tools like Starscan, DRBIII, Starmobile, wiTech

If u want to get engine data u can use the cheapest one like maxscan 70U$, if u want to read all modules so the cheapest one is auto-com...

Judging by your avatar you are a VAG man and you have VCDS. I'm sure VCDS will do a generic OBD II scan on the front menu.

Ross-Tech: VCDS: Tour: Generic OBD-II Screen (http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/tour/obd-2.html)
