I have a 2002 Winnebago on a freightliner chassis, It has a 5.9 ISB cummins engine rated @ 275 HP and 600 ft lbs torque, the original cal file was J90867, I reflashed it with cummins insite using J91306 to 300 HP 660 ft lbs torque,

Now my odometer has been reset to 000,000 miles from aprox 028,500 miles.
My question is:

What can I do to correct this problem??

As always thanks for all/any help you guys give me.

Thanks for the reply ddmech,
My next questions are:
Are you proficient with calterm??
If so would you be so kind to give me some instructions as to how to fix my problem?
Thanks again

Did the odometer in the Vehicle itself reset? Or did it Reset in the ecm? Also did you select the save and restore parameter option when you did reflash? In the Feature and Parameter's section there is an Hour and Mileage offset feature.... perhaps that would help some?

Wristpin, by chance did you upload orignal cal file with
Calterm? If you did use compare calibration's tool and
you can see tables that are changed. Hope this helps.

Yes the digital odometer in the dash reset to zero and yes i did select save and restore parameter option when i did reflash,
I tried lastnight to use the offset feature in features and parameters, i added 28,500 to the mileage part but it didn't help the odometer in the dash
Thanks for posting, I appreciate your help

I don't have calterm and don't know how to use it, I have a work order I saved before I wrote the new cal file and I also have a work order saved from last march,
I've worked around equipment for many years and know quite a bit about cat et but I'm a newbe when it comes to insite.
Thanks for your post and trying to help :)

You can try putting the original mileage in the mileage offset field in features and parameters

Thanks for the input jctech,
I did that last night and now the latest work order shows:
28,500 engine miles
00000 ecm miles
and on my dash odometer 00000 miles

Any more suggestions will be appreciated

It is possible to change the mileage with calterm, I have successfully done it on a ISX cm871. You will need the proper file to get in your ecm with Calterm though. If you could upload a copy of your ecm's calibration from calterm I could try and edit it offline.

*Sorry, just read that you don't have calterm*

When you get it up and running post your ECM part # and maybe someone can tell us what E2M file is required, I have a small selection of them but not quiet certain how to tell which one works with which ECM.

If you did add mileage to the ECM distance offset in features and parameters, and it didnt show on your odometer, your problem probably isnt with the mileage in the ECM. Try check the J1939 parameters, compare your old WO in insite to the features and parameters in your ECM now, seems like a communication error, ECM not telling Dash ECU the info.

Also check in "trip information" under all trips (cumulative) your mileage should show there. If it is there it is more likely a comunication error.

Have you tried it out, speedo/tach, cruise switch, fast idle? See if they work. May be a parameter didnt transfer over, it happens.

Please post the before and after calibration used.

experience helps, the e2m files are listed in folders for engine type, in the ISB folder use the e2m isbp700
try parameters TIT2MI, you should find this one correct, and TIT2MOMI, this one should read 0, change TIT2MOMI to read the same as TIT2MI, and your speedo should come back.

I would have to agree that it sounds strange and it could be a multiplexing setting thats not quiet right, but he's saying that his ECM printout reads O.... I think we can safely assume it got erased somehow.

Thanks jctech but what thread are you talking about that has post #242 ??

I took the motorhome out this weekend and drove 80 miles, Everything worked as usual/normal. The only thing thats different is the odometer shows 80 miles. Exhaust brake, transmission shifts, all gauges, etc.

I appreciate all the help and input you guys have offered, Thanks so much.
