version 8 dumps thats now posted over the internet are all working
if you had a problem with it then try to erase the mcu again and reflash, something must have gone wrong.

i am kinda new to this. But i keep reading about the recommendations to upgrade the hardware on china clone units.
Like the crystal and capacitors and such. Am I understanding this right? Those changes would make the actual
function of the unit more reliable? Or is this a prerequisite for flashing the mcu?

As to flashing the mcu: I would need the firmware and the .lib file which must match, as well as some sort of
jtag-hardware plus the a programming software i.e. Ponyprg that can handle the mcu type. And the existing
At88 should not even be tried to be read, because that would already change its content. Did I get this about right?

do not in any way or reason try to read at88c (there is no reason to touch this ic)
leave it well alone dont even remove it
pcb modifications/rework is to help make the carprog more stable.

I have saw your post but want to check that file is it real or just changed serial number .I have saw many bin files which is actually fake and fake lib file too. I think posted files which is just renamed (lib files ) and changed serial in the bin files can't work properly even offline

you could buy any version because when you do they all need rework

and most out there are only fw4
if you want latest version with less work needed then go for the 8.21 version only
this will save you having to reflash it but you will still have to check and see if everything on the pcb is correct

You're right. I have read all the post, with the translator because I am from Spain.


I deleted the MCU, now when connecting the Carprog to the pc puts unknown device.


I connect the J-link and configure it as it appears in some photos of the post.
It detects at91sam7s256, but when I want to program this error comes out:

Selected Data (0x0 - 3FFFF) does not fit into selected flash sectors.

What am I doing wrong?

I have not deleted it with the j-link, I will try it. I have not desoldered the eeprom, is this the fault? In some place law that it is not necessary to desolder the eeprom

If you are not familiar with j-link then
simplest and faster solutions for your problem is :
1.Instal older version j-link (if i remember well 4.74 or something like that)
2. When software ask to allocate address click YES.

Sorry must be more precise and tell us what you can't flash with latest ver. now ?carprog or j-link?
You didn't need to reflash j-link ,only need to use older pc sw for it .
Of course you can use latest pc ver. too but obviously it is harder way for you.

Program the mpu to version 8.21, and when connecting the carprog to car ( VW scirocco) with cable A1 to try to change the kilometers, or read the eeprom, it connects to the internet and says:
"Can't connect to remote server"

So, my carprog is updated now that I found some time.
I used a J-Link clone for doing so with an older version of J-FLASH.
The issues I had during the whole processs:

- I could not get the J-LINK to connect. Which had two reasons:
1. I at first connected the pinout incorrectly (mirrored) which I figured out by measuring the 3.3V against ground pins.
2. The MCU was not erased completely. I tried it twice and even left it running for five minutes
with Pin 55 connected to 3.3V.

I then tried to power the board up with Pin 55 disconnected.
Then after waiting for 10 seconds, I connected PIN 55 to 3.3V and that made the difference.
Till then I was thinking I should connect the Pin first and then power the board up. Silly me.

I got the repair kit in the meantime and swapped the four Buffer ICs. After that I soldered together the A9 Test-Adapter.
But when I try the hardware Test, it keeps telling me something about an CRC - Error. What am I doing wrong now?

Could that have something to do with the serial number, which is MYKO201607010014 in my case?
And shouldn't there be something like CAR003 in the Serial-string?

What chips you got in repair kit?

Crc error can mean that your firmware is bad also.

You must find good one bin+lib
And get OK after testing .

But first of all you have to repair your device with good chips!

If the connections ok then it seems to me that you didn't erase entire MCU.
Try again to erase and leave MCU at least 30 sec connected on Vcc

Hi,

I only had connection problems when I didn't erase the ?P correctly.

1. You need to first lift Pin 55 and connect a wire to it.
2. Then (with the other end of the wire not connected to anything, power up the board (count 10-15 seconds).
3. And then connect the end of the Pin 55 wire to 3.3 Volts and keep it there for 20 seconds.
4. disconnect the Pin 55 wire and connect your J-Tag. Power the board up and try reprogramming it.

By the way, I got mine to work now. The CRC error came from using the wrong firmware image.
A functioning version of it (8.2.1 offline) is available on this board though.

I have two exe files - one of them also with online diagnostic, so I can read also KM od Golf VI 2014, but it cannot write - error no permision :-/

Mainly I wanted to do VW Golf 5 with micronas, but it cannot connect - no read, no write. Usually nobody have problem with micronas, or not? :-)
Neither Audi A3 2007.

Are those devices of yours cina clones? As far as I know, some online funktions do not work with the chinese clones, since the software only fakes the online connection, without providing necessary data.

Well, in this thread you find all you need to reprogramm the processor of the board.
There is another thread here called 'everything carprog' or so, that contains the actual 8.21 firmware.
But that is an offfline version. there is supposed to be a version around, which has complete online
functionality, but I do not have it, and I do not think its available for free. Someone may correct me, if I am wrong.

erase mcu for longer than the 10 seconds instructions tell you to
sometimes the erase can take ten minutes etc
erase and then retry to flash

Thanks OP, and everyone who shared info. I managed to flash my carprog successfully. I still have to fix my D1 adapter, the hw test with D1+A9 show:


UART1: ERROR
K Line 100k/5v: ERROR
K Line 1k/5v: ERROR
K Line 1K/12v: ERROR
K Line 100K/12v: ERROR

Carprog alone + A9 pass the test OK. Carprog + A1 (after some rework) pass the test OK. Already changed the HC125 on D1 but still show same error.

Anyone has any tips? I don't know how to test it since carprog only pass power to the D1 when running the hw test or running some of the other software features that uses the D1.

I have a problem to program at91sam7s256, I perform the process of erasing the microprocessor by connecting the pin 55 to the vdd, I connect the 12v to the carprog and after 10 seconds I connect the pin 55 to vdd, I disconnect the usb cable and the pin 55 I connect to vss and the microprocessor erase is successful.
I connect the jlink programmer and the 12v cable to the carprog, the program quickly detects the microprocessor.
I make the jlink settings, I delete the microprocessor again with jlink. I load the .bin file and when I press to program it says:
replace the file 0x0 to 0x10000, continue and program the microprocessor.
I disconnect the 12v, remove the jlink.
now is when I have the problem:
When I connect the usb cable to the carprog it does not recognize any usb device.


Someone can tell me why this happens.
I have tested with 4 different firmware files

Instead of using the file they put in the link volthz, the file is called cp 4.01 without AT88 chip, I have programmed it with jlink.
I connected the cp to the usb and it recognized it, I started the program and it recognizes the device.

hi,it happened for me with renault dash with nec, and i close/disconnect from power the dash and repeat the work again to have good write!
so perhapes this can be usefull for you to test...
PS:it looks like there's a service-shedull that must be done in first attempt then it do the right correction in second attempt !!!

Hello, my friends, I have had this problem with Carprog, I update the MCU with V8.21 and I use 150428CAR00542UA.Lib, Carprog works very well with few N / A, but it only works for about 15 minutes, then it's as if had lost the MCU's programming, no longer being recognized by the USB port.
I make a new recording on the MCU back to work, but for only 15 minutes + or - , getting only ????????????? in place of the numbering of the lib in the lower left corner of the program.

I changed the mcu for a new one, but it's still a problem.

it could be that on jlink-project setting-target interface I did not set speed on automatic but left 200khz 12000khz ???
I would not burn another mcu ......

Now I open software 10.93 and many things have been unlocked but when I run something it always shows error "file **********. Lib not found" Don't install any .lib file because I don't know the procedure. If someone can guide me in solving the problem I would be very grateful.

Did you save the LIB file into the software file? Just copy or save it into the software file and it should work fine.

I have 2 Carprog 8.21 clone. One has damaged AT88 and I wanted to convert it to ONLINE.
I uploaded FW ONLINE to it, but the PC does not recognize it.
Is there a "step by step how to do it online" anywhere?
do I need to have something else besides FW in ARM7?

carprog clones not go online..only tells that is connecting to server insted is searching in a folder in your computer(some vws file)...

My advice for all:

Don’t use the flat cable that comes with jlink. Connect directly to the jlink pins and use cables as short as possible.

I had a lot of problems and connection errors until i’ve made shorter cables (3-4cm max). Also connect the 3.3v pin and usb to carprog for more stable power supply.

This is what worked for me and now i have 13.77 fw working great.
