Alfa 147 problem KM

We changed engine in this alfa 147 1.6 yr.2001. After that I got -------- instead of km ? Battery was of course unplugged for some time.
Can this be fixed or to buy new dash?

Isnt that solution when odometer is flashing? This one just shows dots.

i assume you only changed the mechanical part of the engine, not the ecu ?
The ecu also stores the mileage as a back-up which might be a problem when this mileage differs from the mileage in the instrument cluster.

These is dashboard with NEC processor and you can try with NEC programmer to read and write new km (exactly)100000km maybe help you . If that does not help, and you fail to fix it, buy another dashboard .

Greetings its my first post here. I am tec in fiat A.Romeo Service. This one is definitely as previous said "PROXI ALIGNMENT" since you unplugged mostly NBC/NCM wiring.

Fiat examiner has this option.

maybe you are working in fiat but you have not experience,it is like Cokolo said

It's 147 benzin dash with nec inside. Only taking battery off will make problem in nec file and you get ------. Very hard to fix , maybe if you can get 0km and use diagnostic to raise km. buy dash with large screen in the middle and do proxy.

Did someone figured out how to fix that problem? I have the same Dashboard from Alfa 147 with NEC inside and KM value on the screen NOT BLIKING, just showing six "------". I have read the Nec with ETL Nec programmer and the dump is fine except the km values on 1st and 2nd line. They are messed and calculated value of the hex is around 2,062,000km. I tried to modify/erase or rewrite a new km values (0 or 100,000km or any other), but ETL give me error "Connection error" and nothing changed.

I have tried to erase the eeprom and it gives me "Connection error" again, but after that I read the eeprom (after erase) and it was almost empty but there was a problem on the 1st line. It was looking something like that:

Tried erase few more times and nothing changed. Then I rewrite the eeprom with the original dump I saved at the first read. Then I connected to the Dashboard with Multiecuscan and KM value was around 2,062,000km (just the same as the DUMP calculator showed me).

I have original working dump from one guy and I tried to write it, but it gives error again (it is from the same Dashboard model and serial number). Just few addresses cannot be writen/modified or erased. Just on the 1st line.

Btw, Proxy Alignment is only to fix problems when communication between car devices are messed and when the dashboard blinking. Anyway I tried that, but of course it doesn't help at all.

Also I'm 100% sure that if you fire it up without connections to the car (just 1+2+3 pins on +12v and 6+7 on GND) it must show the km values, not just "------".

Any ideas?

Hello,
Buy another secondhand dashbard with working kilometars.
Read the eeprom-bin-file from old dashboard with Upa-Usb-programmer, and modify the kilometars as shown in the first row.
The kilometars should be: read with Multiecuscan/Fiatecuscan true KM, example 100 000km +3% = 103 000km.
Program this modified bin-file into secondhand dashbard.
In his way you don't have to make Proxy-Alignment
