hi any 1 ever heard of the nbox enigma 2 hd recorder seen on ebay with twin tuner and 250gb hd not sure if i should risk it as a twin tuner box any 1 know anything about them?

Dreambox edit will do the trick,and with it been an enigma 2 duel box,you can use any e2 channel list

Ive seen these boxes working nice bit of kit only problem is ya need to by them with enigma already on it as modding them needs steady hand with solder iron and i can find details of it as i wanted to have a crack at it

if anyone finds the soldering details let me know

hi i did buy the box, channel lists easy to install with dreambox edit etc, and i use dcc to ftp to box, picture quality is good and with the new openpli image crossepg works, couldnt get it to work with other images. had a few minor issus, when you restart the box i have had to manually restart the network but no big deal i suppose. only other problem is i cant get it to move my motorised dish, playing around trying to fix it now, not sure if its the enigma images as i just tried the same on an amiko alien 2 and same result

I can't find the thread again but I do remember that it is to do with the twin tuners being incorrectly identified ie feed 1 is actually feed 2
And the person had to switch them round in the config and it got the motor setup working correctly
Because I goes to the motor and the other goes straight to the dish

Any further updates on this box guys as I'm considering buying one as they look an ideal starter box and with built in hdd and twin tuner should keep the wife and kids happy. Only thing is all the ones on ebay seem to come with only 3 months guarantee and the same box sold by the Polish are nearly half the price for some reason. Can the language setting on these be changed to english so are usuable by the likes of us as they also have enigma2 installed?

The reason they are half the price is that they have not been modified to run enigma 2 and is basically just a provider box unable to do anything else unless you can read polish and are really good with a soldering iron. As for it being a starter box, thats also a no go you need some knowledge of enigma 2 and oscam to set it up properly.

Go onto the Sataid forum there is info there. The box does come in English and the reason for cost is that they have to have a lot of wires soldered, reprogram a chip to receive Enigma 2, then have the image flashed and get it working. The 3 month guarantee is on his work. The box itself is great once working but it will be a steep learning curve. Cable 1 from Motor to LNB IN 1 on nBox
Cable 2 from LNB(Misses motor) to LNB IN 2 on nBox

In tuner setup menu
Tuner B is actually LNB IN 1
Tuner A is LNB In 2

They are switched around in the software only - so keep your cabling the same as any other setup. Quote end

On the nbox 5800sx? If it is the Nebula Zero v2 image has it built in. You go into Crossepg settings, Into configure and ensure Harddisk is chosen or USB. Also choose update every hour in standby if you want to. Then go into your OpenTV provider. Choose 28.2 Sly and download. Then go into download and this can take a while. Once done reboot and it should work but go back into Crossepg settings and ensure you have harddisk chosen.

Before doing all this ensure you have setup your tuners and configure them with Sly 28.2 info. You get stuck give me a shout.

Thanks , iv got openpli with oscam alreasy set up , may try Nebula Zero v2 at some piont but may need a hand. , is it easy to change images and set the new images up on nbox twin box ? Thanks.

hi when you were loading channell list wit d/bedit did you use dreambox as the password as i have one and it wont let me send channell list to it . cant connect

As for it being a starter box, thats also a no go you need some knowledge of enigma 2 and oscam to set it up properly.hi portbhoy,it seems like you know a bit about these boxes,i had a power-cut last night and now i can't get any picture. sound is there,in info bar there is no resolution scale eg:1080,576,menu's all work etc. it happened once before,i just kept unplugging it from the wall and eventually i got picture back, so far i must have unplugged it about 20 times still no joy. any assistance would be appreciated, bearing in mind i know next to nothing about these boxes. cheers jim

I would try a reflash it might simply have lost or corrupt a tuner driver.

Just ordered one of these, hope I made the right decision! I really wanted a VU+ solo2 but the missus would not allow. I'm hoping this is a good compromise! :)

Where is the how to.

]This can be done from within the Blue Panel.
1st make a full backup image - takes around 30 minutes and FTP to your computer. Saved out my usb backup and loaded that back up into hdd on SDA1.
Use the Disk Manager (inside Install Manager) to re partition your HDD - WARNING all data on sda (HDD) will be lost.
Make 3 partitions.I made SDA1 is 1gb ext 3, SDA2 is 1gb swap file, SDA3 is rest of drive as ext3.

Mount sda3 as HDD in Mount Center.
FTP your full backup to media/hdd/
From Install Manager choose SDA1 and your full backup then press red to install - this process takes just a few minutes.
Boot from HDD
Boot starts quicker than from USB and it runs stable for me.

Booted into HDD1 and all setup. To configure Crossepg change HDD to the STA file that appears after you have setup the partitions. Then you need to redownload the EPG data from within the Crossepg configure file. Reboot through HDD1 and all set. Oscam worked from the start from backup.

Hi Tom, I was just wondering, what do the different images actually do? whats the difference? I have been pointed in the direction of Enigma2 & came across this box on ebay, funnily its the exact one your describing by the same seller lol, and noticed he installs it with the 4 different images but unsure what one to actually get if I go for it, be a couple of minths til I get the moeny together though.

I run Nebula Zero v2 which is very stable, there is a new one called Hyperion which is supposed to be good, no idea as mine is very stable and I can recommend that as an image.

yes mgcamd 1.35 works fine but oscam better for recording and watching other

i wouldnt get another nbox 5800sx they are crap you are better off getting a vu+ solo 2 receiver for the sake of a few more quid you can get a vu+ solo2 for about ?139 on ebay i have had nothing but problems with the nbox getting it is my biggest regret look how many problems people are having with them on the forums compared to the vu+

I got my first nbox on Friday, had pkt hyperion v4 installed on NAND working marvellously. Yeserday, i installed pkt hyperion v4.5 (+ sly-hd skin) on d hdd, a sweeter experience! I just want to say THANKS to people who have contributed one thing or the other about nbox which served as my guide. Just follow instructions, no mistake.:chuncky:
