Peugeot 206 central locking not working?
My central locking has stopped working properly on my peugeot 206 (1999), when i press the button on the key fob the central locking trys to shut but bounces back up again, sometimes it will lock but 9 times out 10 it will not lock,
Even when I have to lock the doors manually it will be tempermental with the locks bouncing back up no matter what sequence i try to lock it manually.
Any ideas for a fix as this is really iratating and in some cases i have to leave the car unlocked over night.

Some of the microswitch in left or right front door not sending ground when you lock the door,or broken wire between the door and pillar

May sound silly but are you sure the doors are closed properly. The latch fully in the locked position. . Try locking the open doors with a screwdriver so it thinks doors are closed and thy locking. Might just be that the latch is not fully home . Worth a try if Nowt else

@ perovuk i will check and see but i did once have a look closly at the loc machanisms but i will look again for anything undue.

I will agree with perovuk. BSI is seeing that one door is open even if it is not. The problem probably in one of the door locks if you already checked wiring.

Ok and yes one of the passenger doors always had this horrible buzzing noise when the central locking was used prior to this problem and to date, so maybe that door has issues with the wiring syatem, i will check it out....

Huh try locking from outside both doors both should react
Then sit inside and push your knob down
Which ever side does not react rip that door panel off and goldern oppertunity for a scotchlock on the pink to the green /yellow wire
Then mNEGER NEVER leave the krys i nn when battery on and off
Done several
Oh tell a lie only works on model with deadlocking. Non deadlocking new mech 100?. Or install aftermarket cdl moyor use 5 wire for the contacts

After a bit of research i now know which door is the faulty one and i want to change the actuator /door lock which is quite simple.
The issue i am having is i can not get the wire loom connecter to the actuator / door lock off, is here a clip to undo it ? some advice needed please.

If yours is pre2001 then its a "paper clip" which has to be flicked off with a screwdriber
If post 2001 then squirt with that ub40 spray screeddriver in slot anf lift up red tab and gently pull back plug
If two buttons in speedo meter later one
If early you need to buy a loom to convert it
If convertion insist you are a dk member and entitled to the info
Hate this iphone
If no info takes a vip member a genuine hour to figure out.

Hi i thought i would give you an update regarding my faulty locks, i have changed the noisy lock which sounds a lot better, but i still have the locks bouncing ? is the only way to check which one is the faulty lock by disconnecting one lock at a time.
Also I have been looking into diagnostic tools / programs and there is one that states that they can detact a faulty actuater / lock, would that be better than to rip the door panles off ?

when i am in the car i can press all the locks and they stay down except the drivers side, any time i press the drivers side lock everything pops back up, same as with the key fob, i have to hold the drivers side lock down for a few seconds for it to lock then i have to go around the car and lock the rest manually.

Its frogench so opposite to what you expect
the door that has the new motor, go to opposite door and join the pink to the green/yellow

Hi i have done two things firstly i bit the bullet and i striped all door panales of and tested each door and boot actuator / lock one at a time to no avail, then i thought i would try the wire trick you suguested Meat - Head ? i have noticed on my door that the colours are different , would it be the brown wire instead of the pink ?

UHH! 4 wires i didn't get where i am today be EVER seeing a pug 206 door motor with 4 wires.
Looking at that - stick it back from where you got it from and say nothing.
Pug 206 door panaels - 4 screws close eyes and yank - 5 mins tops.
lots have a photo of the drivesrs one?

Just read my reply and I was meant to say the two in the front are identical and the two in the back are indentical but different from the the front ones ? When I maully lock the drivers side all locks bounce, when I lock the front passengers side that lock stays down and no reaction from any other locks ?

Update i was about to purchase a new second hand lock and thought i best check one more time all possible issues disarming locks one at a time, ressting the key fob which did not work anytime i tried it, etc.....
So i followed this guide to the tea:-
CENTRAL DOOR LOCK with DEADLOCKING (2 BUTTON PLIP KEY)
1. Ensure all doors are unlocked using the key.
2. Press and HOLD the large plip key button while the LED flashes continuously for 20 seconds. After 20 seconds press the small deadlock button once while still holding the large button.
3. The LED will stop flashing.
4. Release the large button and the LED will light constantly.
5. Press the large button once and the LED will go out.
6. Open the door and hold the Plip key near the Ignition switch and press the large plip button once.
7. Turn the ignition ON, wait 10 seconds and then turn the ignition OFF.
8. After 5 seconds the Plip should now operate.
And now it is back to normal and so is the car panles repaired and put back on and no more yoga to shut the doors manually...... Result.... and thanks Meat - Head for your valuable input....
