hi my friends.i was have a troublle with this machine.Error was API HOOK ERROR and device was not opening.
first open inside and change 2 cap one is 470 uh other is 10 uf.
And than use a good quality usb printer cable.
After that use software which i uploaded.
if error continious use ept file with mprog and reprogram your ftdi chip.
important tips:use clean windows xp

my device is working good in Win XP SP3 with every USB cable that I have and with kaspersky internet security instaled, only need to tell to kaspersky not to mess with those files and everything is OK...

Installation off software is working only for me on an older type desktop and hard drive .
Seems on my laptop with clean XP installed and sata drive it does not work .

i am using on sata drive.i dont think so.please try to change your sata virtualization settings.

Can someone please help me with my nec programmer I just bought from china, It doesn't work just says hardware error, I have tried on three xp computers without success. I opened it up and noticed Q1 is missing, it has tracks going there from Q2 and the IC so it looks like it is meant to be there. Can someone please help me with the part number or value of the missing component if possible. I would rather fix it that send it back and wait another two weeks. :giveup:

you dont have any missing parts on pcb.your pcb same as mine compleatly.focus on driver,and set as com port 3.use a clean xp installation disc.

Thanks for all your help, I formatted the hdd and reinstalled sp2 and then installed the usb drivers that comes with the programmer, selected com 3 and still get the same error :dontknow:

Check Port setting on Device Manager.
If hardware not connected, unistall usb driver then reisntall again.

Get latest USB driver from here:
FTDI Driver (http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm)

I did as you said but I don't think my laptop likes those drivers as i now get this error when I select com 3 in the programmer software and then it just reboots.

I think the pc have crash usb driver.
Un-isntall all usb driver.
Restart pc.

Re-install usb driver what you need.

Use CDM Uninstaller:

here is the soft that come with my programmer, you must disable AV software to have not problems while working with programmer otherwise on of the files in folder may be deleted...

Thanks cagatay87, I ended up buying a 2nd NEC programmer from another seller on aliexpress as I dont have mprog, I just plugged it in and it worked straight away :biggrin: !! Finally i can program this key at last. So it ended up that I just had a dud, I have been in contact with the seller that sold me the defective programmer and he has said that they only have a 48 hour warranty and that I contacted them on the 3rd day after receiving it so no warranty for me. :laugh:
hopefully i will end up getting a refund through aliexpress but not holding my breath.

Hi guys. Does anyone knows how to read the NEC processor on the W204 ESL (Electric Steering Lock)? The processor is NEC A2C-45770. The ESL board number is Siemens VDO 659570-02C A2C53166719-03.
This is a VERY common defect on W204s, i got some 5 damaged ESL here and would like to source the problem, and all reveals to be the NEC processor. Already tryed/tested all around the board, only this to target now is the NEC processor, but that is not interchangeable, as it contains the vital information for start permition.
Through diagnostics i could read some information from the ESL (serial number...), when disconect the ESL cable such information is not readable, that means the ESL unit is not completely dead, it communicates, so i think the vital information might still be there. I would like to read and save this information (dump file) and write it onto a new NEC processor to try if something different happens.

Any ideas?

Hi Shmortz, You know if the AK500, AK500pro or the NEC Programmer is able to program the ESL (Electric Steering Lock) on the W204?
I was trying to find a way to read the dump from NEC A2C-45770 on the ESL and try to upload the information into a Orange key.
Then get a new ESL and dump the virgin file from it and write to blank new NEC processors to make several copies for various vehicles in future.
Use the orange key with the information (from Dump from original damaged ESL NEC processor) and upload it through the EIS.

Any idea to shear?

i have bought ak500 , when i want to write NEC , it doesnt open NEC PROGRAMMER . i have tried to put the files of nec programmer.rar but still the same , it doesnt open nec programmer ,,, when i want to open manually at c:program files/hrt/ak500 nec prog , it doesnt open , and doesnt show anything ... what problem is ?!
