Hello Guys.

I am working on this vw crafter 2,0diesel 2011 my engine code cktb. It was involved in an accident. The abs unit was damaged. The problem with the vehicle is that it cuts out at 3000rpm

I do not have the original ABS unit. The vehicle was brought to me with another abs unit that the customer had fitted in. If the 2nd hand abs unit is plugged in the vehicle will not start and vcds will not connect to the vehicle. When it is unplugged the vehicle will start and faults given out are from enine control are 4713- no COMMUNICATION WITH abs CONTROL MODULE U0121 and 4278- IMPLAUSIBLE DATA RECEIVED FROM ABS CONTROL MODULE. At the moment I am not too concerned with the ABS faults but what I do want to know is

will the engine will not rev past 3000rpm if there is a fault with the ABS system.

should I look elsewhere for the fault of it not revving past 3000rpm.

Regards

1) Would one not assume the ABS was not working otherwise it would not have had an accident

2) Can you programme engine ECU to think it has no ABS

2a) DISCONNECT THE BATTERY - but as you don't like me that much, leave the battery on - will the ABS plug fit two ways round? - some Pug 206 Does

3) As for 3000 RPM i would suggest you listen to that Rhinna bird from Barbados

Shut up and drive - see if once wheels turning gets over 3000 RPM

Cant offer too much insight on this one but for what its worth , first thought can customer provide original abs module , if electronic part intact can be put on existing hydraulic block. If not at least allows you confirm correct part now fitted.
Second thought is wiring loom ok? sounds like van not happy when this unit is connected.
3K rpm dont know possible abs is cause , speed probably taken from abs van dont know if flat out or stopped ??
I would be digging out wiring diagrams if cant get or confirm correct abs is now fitted.
