W210 Big Key with of82b how to read

Hi, I have a big old Mercedes key with the Motorola OF82B MCU, what is the best tool to read it ?? as it is starting to fail and i want to copy its contents to another mcu before total failure ?? has any one tried this tool ??

Hi.
Use Xprog-M or UPA to work with this MCU.

Etl is good , Carprog is good.
About failing to start , problem usually come from coil.
It's better to make a spare key with nec type. But you need ak400 or similar tool to do this.

yea I am sure it is in the Mcu, the coil tests ok, when I squeeze the mcu it works fine, when I let go of it , it stops working, I have resoldered but still no good, what etl do I use, I have etl 705 but can't find adapter for this mcu? Is the correct one ?

Check x'tal configuration.
MCU big old key have 4Mhz and 8Mhz xtal.

If I buy xprog-m or upa what adapters do i need to buy, I can't find the adapter board to suite this MCU ?
How do i tell which xtal ?

UPA usb have good adapater special for 0F28B.

There is no problem to read with UPA programmer.No need any adapter.Do not remove mcu from board.

UPA CONECTION


LIFT UP PINS 1, 11, 12, 15 and 16 of MCU.

UPA.............MCU
1...................1
2...................11
3...................12
5...................28-Vss
6...................16
7....................2
8....................15
9...................27-Vdd

On your key crystal is 2 MHz.

Dont forgot to to set crystal to 2Mhz on UPA.

Crystal can be 2Mhz or 4Mhz

Just need 8 wires to read and write with upa.
