The x-prog-m need good external adaptor (tried to read and write 05 from a saab 100 times worked fine on clone 12v 2a). If you can get a etl, I would use the etl,never had one problem anything secured do not read in spot.

I have an XPROG-M 5.0 Chinese clone and it reads, writes, and verifies HC705X32 (0G47V) 100%, in circuit or out of circuit, via USB or serial, with or without AC adapter. I now have a cable wired to my AAM and can connect my XPROG while the AAM is still in the vehicle, just flip open the fuse box cover and plug in my XPROG. Before ever using my XPROG I did the 100k resistor mod here: http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f155/xprog-05-705-don-t-write-repair-205982/index2.html#post1112942.

@ray-ray,
Here is my '99 ML430 AAM 163 545 37 32 with the ICP solder points labelled. The points labelled in yellow are listed as optional in the XPROG manual (I later discovered they are not needed for my AAM).
