View Full Version : 2009 Seat Leon Remote Frequency

Hi guys I hope this is the correct section. I have a Seat Leon I need to programme the remote for central locking into. The car has no remote with it and the customer has supplied a three button remote with 434mhz frequency. Using VCDS to program does not seem to work. I am starting to think the remote is of the wrong frequency.

Is there any way that I can use VCDS to work out the vehicles operating frequency? Or is it noted somewhere?

Many Thanks

would of thought 434 MHz - pretty sure

Label on side of fob. Are you sure its the right one??

As said I am unsure as the fob was supplied by the customer, it is not new, so can't be sure if correct and original key is just plain no fob. If I knew it was somewhere else on the car I could make sure it was the right frequency.

if the car is by Mile then its 315 and if its by KM then its 434
u need to be sure as well of the exact number of the remote , cz in VAG all remotes look the same but different number
u better buy KD200 that covers almost all VAG remote and the remotes are cheap

Problem is I don't have original remote, I suppose I can get part number from parts place. I don't plan on going into remote programming, I am just trying to help out a trade guy by programming this second hand remote for him. If I look at measuring block 091 in VCDS I can see number of programmed remotes as zero and also there is a measuring block for remote buttons, but when I press buttons on the remote it does not seem to "see" these inputs.

I have a sealey remote tester and it seems to pick up a working signal from the remote so it seems to be functional.

customer has wrong remote - simple

Buy from 3d group a new one - or try ebay/google. p/n will be there somewhere - its not the frequency

This happens to me all the time - customers think they know better :)

I think you are right mate, everything seems to be ok on the car as far as I can see. I think the general rule should be if the customer supplies the parts they are wrong lol. Ill check part numbers with ETKA tomorrow.

on that year it could be one of 2 remotes as a cross over , it could be last of the 1KO959753G remotes , or the 1st of the 1KO959753N remotes , both look the same but only the correct one works , both are 3 button remotes , the later one is NEC .

when you seperate remote from blade , does it not have the code on it , if it has check it.

Thanks mate, the remote I have been supplied is 1KO959753G. Seems like I need a 1KO959753N because nothing happening with this remote.

i always seem to get cross over years where it can be 1 of 2 , thus i carry alot of stock to ensure having correct one .

as has been said , with kd200 you could have made a temporary remote to test using no tokens , to differentiate between the 2 , once you find correct one , you spend a token making it permenent then lock it , job done , cheaper than carrying huge stock .

i would say its either wrong remote or a fault elsewhere , check etka to be sure but i suspect the remote is wrong one of the 2 possibles.

Chasis type is 1P but it is the very last so maybe cross over.

After 2009 I think is the new remote type, not separate but one piece.
Are you sure the car was equipped from factory with RF door lock?
The remote is tested for good working condition?

easy to know :
1KO959753G , can be adapted on adress 46-Central Conv
1KO959753N , can be adapted on adress 09-Cent-elec
clear all remote key using chanel 00, and try again

Yes I tested the remote, but on a very basic rf tester, seemed to be working ok. When I use VCDS to program remote the car begins the process so I assume it has an RF door lock. It also has remote looking activated in long coding.
