I think its possible make with abrites, but need key to turn on ignition.
may be if give +12 to some wire pin could be read from clock and then key code from Cim?

It gets better lol. AD100 Pro will read pin code and then after entering pin code it will give mech key number, all with ignition off.

I hear there is a method by turning on radio or lights etc with AVDI but not confirmed yet.
would be nice to know if anyone knows the secret :)
keep on lishi-ing :)!

You can get comm with CIM/REC/Display with AVDI/OP-COM on Astra H with hazard lights on/radio ON.

I have tried on 2 different Astra H using AVDI since I read this post and could not read pincode or get comms untill ignition was on with either vehicle. radio, hazzards, headlight, and everything else on lol.
everything was okay once ignition was on.

Even on a Astra-G i still needed to short the ignition to get power on to read cut - AD100 or AVDI wouldn't read.

short the ignition? just undo the grub screw and pull the ignition switch off and turn with a flat blade! much safer :)

theres a number of ways to read astra h , one is as derrick has said with ad100 pro or mvp pro , another is to adapt a lishi tool to pick ignition , especially useful when the ignition has been changed as ive had now on 2 astra h and a corsa c , the other is to run a bypass in fuse box to power ignition.
normally i just pick the door with lishi , decode , cut key , power ignition with key and program .

Very often car door lock not work if customer used remote all times.

a good flush out with wd40/gt85 and working the lock with a rake will normally free these up enough to pick and decode , can take a little while but most will free up enough , theres always the exception of course .

I wrote on any of my post that you can read pin code? You can get comms with REC/CIM without a problem with op-com without a key. I try on numerous occasions.
When op-com try to connect to REC or CIM push central lock button on console, then you can see the magic.

I just need to read mecanical key code, cut a key, then read pin code.

had same today ninja with corsa c 2005 my , had ignition change last time he lost keys , so key code only good for door , times like this a modded tool comes into its own.
we have mr li looking at various ignitions at present , where a new tool is needed we are looking at a new range of ignition readers for the future , he is on it .

Is there a list available of which ignitions we can pick and which we can't story of my bloody week walk aways due to different ignition locks, not confident enough to deal with them. Makes it worse their all on steering lock so need someone else to wiggle steering while picking.

I do not know of any tool that will read key number on Astra H without having pin code, apart from mechanical means - ie lishi. The simplest way I know of on Astra H is to read pin code with MVP/ AD100 Pro - and then after entering pin you can read key number - all with ignition off. But I am willing to learn and am all ears.

Please don't post crap if you don't test before.
Here is a movie made by me in one Astra G, Y17DT, read mechanical key code with AVDI without any key.

have to agree on astra G and zafiera A , very few need ignition on to read key , ive had a few , but only a few to date.

and when they do need ign on, just put a wire from battery to pin 2 on coilpack connection :) - never had a diesel model that i needed to put ign on, but some petrol models needed help.

I would say approx 20%. plenty enough to know how to power up though.

also worth mentioning ive had plenty of these that have had ignition changes too , so often necessary to remove ignition and strip on some of these , as ive had alot now where the mechanical key code is no longer relevent.

Astra h doesnt have an ignition switch it has a CIM module!!!
Heres how i read key number with no working key on astra h.
Read pin with AVDI from info display with radio on.
Then with hazards on use op-com and go into CIM unit, then go into change key number option in CIM you will need to enter security pin previously read from info display to do this.
Op-com shows you key number of car do not change .
Cut key from code read happy days.
Tried this on 2005 vectra c and it doesnt work, but will probably work on zafira B, as same vehicle electrically as Astra H.
