PSG16 Opel BDM reading

I'll share my picture how to connect any bdm tool and read PSG16 pump.

Sometimes i have problem reading FLASH...

It looks like MPC has different config protocol calling CS0 and CS1 registars to start reading flash on new PSG16 pumps produced after 2005.
But in the mean time, i think those pins CS0 CS1 CS2 are already connected to some other BDM pads on psg16. I didnt try to connect pull down to try call it manualy.

Another thing i will try to write MPC data from VOLVO siemenes sid803, into PSG16, it has same FLASH type (1mb). And then with VOLVO MPC firmware to try read FLASH.

which tool are you using for read via OBD PSG16?
We all know that PSG16 is history and with all that all lot of cars are running on the street equipped with PSG16 ECU.

thank you friend good job, a question in the original PSG16 read eproms, mpc556 ok.
but in the other car leaves mounted read eproms. there is any solution. tried but failed to encode.
mpc556 write ok, but eproms not let me.
I use xprog-m, you can use another tool with the same point of bdm?

This is very usefull. EPEE pin is near XTAL 20MHZ

But that pin can be controled via BDM. Find hex value in MPC hex: C848 and change it to C828 (near BOSCH100 value). This should be EPEE Enable registar.

Or find which one of the new BDM pins are Flashe Enable pins.

I have 0281010717 PSG.
I can read only MPC, I need read EEP.
I read by X-prog 5.0

What is the problem?

hii everybady,first excuse for my anglais i'm new her, i whant to read the pin of psg 16 i have x-prog 5.0 and i have cartool 010b it can calculate the pin of psg 16,so what must dowith x prog , i will read mpc or mpc external flash or mpc external eeprom,because i don't know where is the pin

Pin must in eeprom!
You can try to use Carpog for read PIN via OBD and can reset ecu(renew)

Thanks babos,I know with carprog can read the pin of psg16,but i whant how i can read the pin with xprog because i was see in other forum the pin can read'it with xprog and cartool 09b that can calculate the pin,but i don't know what read; pmc external flash or mpc external EEPROM

Xprog read the same all tools who use BDM port it is Motorlla (Flash MPC eeprom).
Carprog read eeprom only.
It is mean Xprog can read eeprom and then you can search pin in eeprom dump.(manual or with other software)

Hi friends! Does anyone know if in a SAAB 93 PSG 16 pump for cloning it via BDM i will need to read full ecu (EEP,MPC555 and EXTERNAL FLASH dumps)? Its enough eep and MPC555? Thanks !

Some psg16 pumps on Saab doesnt have external flash at all. They use only MPC. THen clonening 100% i possible.

To hack hw pinout i need 1 broken saab psg16 and i will share pinout for free... AGAIN :)

Can anyone tell is possible to read internal flash of PSG16 via BDM? I can read MPC and Eep, but I cant get access to internal flash.

We need high tech engineer from bosch to explain where did they put boot or enable strap

for eprom and mpc you can read with galeto or bdm ,direct on board ,for flash mpps 8 on psg connector and then you have all

you can ask for an exact description for xprog I do not know where to connect the TMS pin and 3.3v in xprog

Only xprog can READ FLASH and WRITE FLASH on PSG16 via BDM.
