Peugeot 307 Remote Key Fob Programming...
I had a 307 today which I had a new remote (from ebay), it was a 2001 car and I put the key into ignition and pressed lock for 10 seconds and then took key out and waited 10 seconds before pressing any buttons, it just didn't work. This was a brand new fob, was this procedure correct?
Any ideas? I put it down to the fob being faulty in the end and was planning to order another....

So these remotes must be programmed using PP2000 only? I thought you could program them in ignition and holding lock button?

ive done plenty and every remote was programmed by holding the small button for 10 seconds , ive never programmed a remote to an old 307 using any diagnostic kit it has always been manual

You can't program these without matching transponder.Search for thread Reusing Peugeot Remotes.Second hand or brand new,it doesn't matter,it must have matching transponder...

thats the trouble with the PSA remotes , different remotes on different models and years , the chinese ones have limited model coverage despite the claims of the chinese and the ebay resellers , as all various remotes look the same , sometimes the coverage claims of the ebay sellers are wrong or misleading , some are even new unmatched chip , 2nd hand board in a new case .
buy correct part from a trusted wholesaler and buy just once , in uk the following will all sell the correct part
3D group
Hickleys
Advanced keys
NW keys
peugeot main dealer
some times trying to get a cheaper part on the likes of ebay are pointless time wasting and costly mistakes , where as charging properly and buying correct part at the outset is better for all concerned.
by the time you buy 2nd hand parts , do the work on them , put them in new cases , the time involved outweighs any price advantage , and you can guarantee original parts properly and with confidence , some cheap remotes work ok , but with psa i stick to original as cheaper and more efficient in the long term.

yeah 2nd hand is more trouble than worth as martin said. and with new i slap 12 months warrentee on top as every seller should do.
Alot of cases are crap as well. don't fit together and end up gluing. nop, no more for me sick of this and chinese crap. go genuine is my advice :)
