Ive come across the above car wuth the above problem which basically is remote keys have lost sync but seem to remember seeing info about removing passenger seat and going to a control unit under the carpet and shorting a wire to ground to bring remote locking back to life.

Does anyone have a bit more info wire colours etc

Many thanks.

Hi in Saab 9-3 you can remove ignition lock and on the bottom is small hole put some small screwdriver and then turn key
That will explain if stering lock is fault. As I know most common problem is ignition lock
Or in the worse case scenario CIM
If is CIM open and read 93c66 and i will give you virgin dump and them you programme key again
Regards Chris

Right so ig I remove that screw driver in hole and can switch ignition then what next?

Then if you hear click that's mean steering lock is working .
Then you need to replace ignition switch
You don't need to programme new ignition switch and car will be up and running
