The way it is built and works for encapsulated TSSOP8 MSOP8, and if you look at the video, is very fast read and write, I built some prototypes, like those published by "Geryy", but are difficult to align with eep. (staff appreciation)
For TSSOP8 and MSOP8 need two tools totaling 152 dollars more shipping.
The final idea of this is to make a fast and secure job, not unsolder and re-solder
This tool is made in house, so it is very cheap compared to the Russian page and Ebay
TULGEYWOODMAN I did not understand your question. kynar wire?

I insist on several points:
Speed, cost, safe, easy to align the pins, all in one for both TSSOP and MSOP

It's actually possible to solder direct using kynar wires.
It takes 5 mins to solder connections, read, write,de solder connections.
It only takes the same time to remove EEPROM,fit into zif socket, read, write and solder back on board.
Unless you are doing 70 a day then this seems to suit me.

I make a probe TSSOP8 with 8 pins, to compare:
It is difficult to align with the pins of the chip. In short it is faster to read and write only four pin and grabbers, also need to make another MSOP8, different measures, Cheap

Claudio, your 4 pin and 2 grabber probe is fine for you with 93cxx eeproms only but my zif sockets works perfectly for all types of mssop, tssop, soic and dil eeproms. Do you never come across other chips than 93cxx?

NO, it is also possible for any spi or 12c, but occupy two probes and software that clicks for me, because I have both hands full, but it is very easy to read and write circuit, If you need sometimes dongle as yours but made by me.

Well Claudio it's not a competition but as you appear to like copying and you are a bit behind the times, have a go at this one. By the way it is the new UPA S and this little adapter works in or out of circuit 100%. Note, no dip switches! Arthur.

I do not compete with you or anyone, or if it is better or worse, just that it's possible to build inexpensive tools.
I do not sell, I just made for my and friends and for very little money compared to those selling Ebay
the dongle: I have the original upa 1.3 and clones, and it works very well and long time savings by not desoldering.
And the dip switches, regulating the voltage is sometimes necessary. I have not copied your dongle, but I know inside it. modifications make my work better.
The probes also work on new upa are also 100% Original designed and tested by my.
The adapter that you 'sell, not working in circuit (Tssop and MSOP)
About copy, do not pretend to discover gunpowder, just do my best work and save time and money
Finally I just want to share an idea

If I have this, but this is for the "poor", those who can not invest much or those who can do a lot with little, also those who copy and add something to make it better.
Your adapter is good, but expensive for me. I also entertains build these "gadget"

For in-circuit programming, I use the microchip pickit2 programmer, it is cheap and voltage for Vpp can be easily adjusted.
If chip removal is needed, I use UPA.

bought 2 of them, tssop8 and soic8. Must say it is a worst and most expencive eeprom adapter i have ever owned. Every time i try using it it ends up in the trash can, realizing how much i paid for it makes me angry. Using a hot glue and pogo pins you can make nice adapter, thats exactly what i did, ofcoure it doesn't look as good as the ones on picture but it works good. Led light on it is totaly useless .

Friend, I will not go into specific detail. I can only contribute my short experience advised by users of digitalkaos. It is very attractive to know of tools that allow to read eeprom directly in pcb for tssop and others. These clamps or contact points can erroneously read the board and throw false data for your dump with the consequent risk of losing unique data. My only advice is to ALWAYS unsolder eeprom and solder again on specific pcb to read dump. I'm sure it's difficult due to the small size of the new types of memories, but believe me, by practicing you will be able to read. Although I know that you will not pay attention to this item, I will appreciate that you press the "thank" button because it will be a matter of a short time that you give me reason in what I explain when you commit a great irremediable mistake.
