Can anyone help me, trying to read HC05 mask 0D62J QFP64, with xprog, mcu is from 1998 mercedes sprinter.
xprog says device is silent, I try with power supply too.
Any diagrams or settings would be great.
Thanks in advance, ninja

Remove MCU from board and solder to qfp64 adapter and you can read it without problem.Dont waste time to try read it onboard with xprog.

Did you solder xtal 8000 or 16000 MHz to adapter near mcu?Without xtal you can't read MCU.
Which adapter you use?
You must use this adapter

You must get this adapter when buy xprog device.
Here is pic with marked pins for xtal, but soldering is from other side of adapter.Try and you will see what is magic of read/write hc05x16/32 with xprog.

Man,vag comfort modules, some clusters with motorola mcu etc.
You can put 4000,8000 or 16000 MHz just set in xprog same frequency.

Here we go -
4Mhz should do
No bugger wants to help me with my posting OJ66D - not as popular lol
I think my Chryslers SKIM MC68HC908AZ32 is dead but i have plan to rewrite VIN on either replacement cpu or scrappy one.
So problem solved (i think!) with matching this way

yeah ninja i seem to be doing more ecu repairs than keys now. guess just the way the jobs go :)

Need frequency meter or osciloscope for that. Why not just remove xtal from immo box?

You want the 2 pin type. Not the 4 pin or surface mount type. go to my ebay link and u will know what to remove on the pcb :)
8Mhz should do. They are marked in MHz so 2, 4 ,8 20 MHz will be on top of chrystal
- so u may need one off another board

If you in hurry, remove xtal from same immo box and finish job.First try with 8 and if not read try with 16 MHz.For next time buy somewhere spare xtal-s 4, 4.19,8 and 16 MHz and make stock .For this xprog adapter best is 2 pin xtal ,like member obdsystems say ,but smd with 3 pins also can be soldered just middle pin is not in use.
Many peoples from this forum helped me,and i just do same thing ;)

Man,i have original upa and i think is too risky read this mcu on MB with she.Upa can't skip security bits and erase eeprom in that try of read mcu.If you have empty mcu ,upa can write dump without problem.Only problem is reading :)

I have UPA also, I use another programmer normally though. You can read mask J66D fine no security. L52H has security - enter security bytes F1 6A FA 04 E4 DA FA 04
and this will also read fine. wont do 0d62j as far as I know

That's common it must be.
The HC05 adapter board by secured mode gets the clock signal out of the box through a pin on the long pin header.
