Yes,if it is new remote,for synchronization for this type of key is not needed.For old one yes it is needed for synchronization also.

New type fobs like in the picture attached don't need barcode to program,just give ignition with new key and VIDA subscription.Just programmed one of those today.

There is a BIG cloak of shadow over Volvo keys.It is a big secret,and dealers aren't very helpful.

Both keys are with id48? Because i need from id48 barcode examples. Do you know how look exactly matching it with VIDA? Any button pressing is necessery? Or only this barcode+software update?

Key programming doesn't need barcode,only remote.

Bugger, I have bought a few second hand keys (id 48 prong type) for when I finally get a Volvo job.
I take it there is no way to work out what the barcode is if it's missing?

Save it,they break easily...You could unlock the transponder and reuse it,removing the internal remote electronics from the old fob,and placing it new.
Transponder is located in the prong,and when it breaks,you have to cut the fob to get it to,and it can't be reassembled again.
There are 2 types for Europe.

Continental and Delphi,if I recall correctly.

How can I program Remote to Volvo S40 2008 r.
I have bar codes and Vida with AVDI
transponder id48 is already programmed with Tango and car running,

no I don't have keyless
oryginal remote in car is Siemens VDO 5WK49259 434mhz

So it did not fit for your car.Can be Siemens or Continental (now it is the same) but not for keyless system and must be for your country or region. Even if you got right key with code you can not add via vida offline.

They are not keyless i have opened them and all looks same like original working from car.

Only need some one to help me fix CRC in CEM eeprom.

CRC is in $E0-$E1
