Old audi A8 4.2 1996. Where is the immo data stored?

Hi. I tried to swap the ecu bud i did not see any eeprom inside. I swapped the flash memory (upper corner left) but immo lamp still on. The broken ecu has no immo errors. Maybe someone can tell me where is the immo data stored. Audi A8 4.2 1996 , bosch 0261204146/147 4D0907557J . Thanks in advance

In the middle you have B58085 eeprom replace it and start the car, it is 24C02

B58085 fold diodes (6 + and 6 -). Thanks anyway. Someone told me to swap the big mcu on the upper corner right. If is a lot of work. If i would be sure of that i will do it.

I have a spare ecu. If i don't get it i will buy the vag emulator. But i just am curious where is the immo data stored.

Hello, hmmm the ECM should be Motronic M 5.4... Info that I got tell's me that there should be EEPROM 24C02... Anyway, as I can understand, there is no one... So look for 27C1024 flash memory and replace it. Hard to tell which one it is, but check the one with the sticker "355875" Underneath the sticker you should find the chip marking.

Missed that you have already replaced it, checked few places and it states that this ecu is M 5.4 and the Immo data is stored in 24C02. Hmmm, usually the 24C02 is marked as B58252. And the B58085 is not EEPROM for sure... Maybe A8 Audi ecu is somehow different.

I would try changing the an87c196kr, its Intel microcontroller, it should have integrated EEPROM memory.

doesn't this car have a separate immo box? I'm not sure where it is but I remember it being separate from the ecu/dash

Immo is in white box.
Try this:
1. Connect new ECU
2. Try to connect with VAG - COM or VCDS with module 25
3. Login with pin code
4. Adaptation (010) - Channel 00
5. Press test and save
6. Disconnect
7 Try to start. In this point You have synchronized immo box with new ECU

With the old ecu the engine lamp if off and with the second ecu is flashing. I replaced the flash memory and one mcu. Still immo active. I cannot replace all the components one by one until the immo lamp is off. There is no eeprom on the pcb.

Here is the engine ecu pcb again. On the back side there is no eeprom. I replaced the two components marked with yellow sticker( flash memory and intel mcu) and still the immo lamp flashing. Maybe somebody can help me to solve this issue. Thanks in advance.

Why are You looking for immo data in ECU when in this year ECU don't have immo data? You must only synchronize immo box to ECU. Could You try what I write to You?

Nope only from white box because You synchronize immo box to ECU.

Hi, eprom is masked in 16 legs controller, it have two fake legs on each corner, it is next to s853 mark on pcb and I thin it is B58026
