When read in the Zedbull

UM1 : AFDD8765
UM2 : AAAAAAAA ...
CHIP: MAGIC II
TYPE: 48 CRYPT Megamos
The ones above are the same for all chips
ID : is different for all chips

I've bought them as VW CAN (From China), so none of them are actually VW CAN?

There just standard blank magic2 id48 chips. It is easy to change them to VW CAN chips with a good tool.

This is the name of the lot which I've bought on eBay: VW CAN System ID48 Glass Chip Auto Key Chip For VW .
I messaged the seller that I specifically needed VW CAN System ID48 Chip and ZEDBULL Shows this (see the pic attached)

On an old used chip ZEDBULL shows that it's CAN System Chip, so it means that the seller send me a wrong item?

what tool are you planning on progamming the newer VAG cars as most tools that can program them can also turn the normal chip into a 'CAN' chip

I was not trying on any specific car, I just wanted to have those ID48 CAN chips for the future possibilities.

May I "hijack" this thread a little. It is about the differences in ID48 chips so maybe it's the correct place to write my question.

For some time I notice a Chinese version of the ID48(also called T6 or TP08) circulating around. It has brighter, more transparent glass and is much cheaper. I didn't have chance to test it thoroughly and I hope someone had this opportunity. Can you share your experience - does it successfully replace the original ID48 transponder with the dark colored glass? What are the functional differences if any? I think it is different from TS48 which is for duplicating on some cars with TS888.

What, nobody bumped into those chips? Or they are so bad they are not worth discussing?

I'm not sure but I think they are '48W' chips. No need to update memory eeprom after programming transponder from file.

Thank you p1et, but you are talking about the writable chips like TS48 and that's not what I meant. My question was about the Chinese version of the original ID48 which are only for programming(like HTC-01 from Honrow).

These chips work fine. Not had a problem with any of them.

I use these brighter transponders since the beginning of this year. I haven't experienced any problem with them. I just worry about how these are shockproof.

Hi I also use them I inject glue into chip slot ...I use glue that has silicone type of properties so when set.. chip is in a type of capsule...Regards Irvine
