Hello all,
I have a Saab 93 2006, I've lost the keys, I am a mechanic and have contacted a few locksmiths about a replacement however none can do saabs,
I was chatting to another mechanic who had the same problem he said it was fixed by getting a replacement CIM unit and key from a car for breaking then he got a guy to code it.
What software would I need to code it ? Or how would I go about it ?

You need the virgin dump for a cim,do a search its here. Make sure you write it in 8bit mode or you can corrupt the dump. You will need a tech2 with a Saab card to program key to cim. A new cim from the dealer runs about $1,200.00 so flashing is the way to go.

My CIM unit is ok, the problem is the keys lost, would I be able to replace CIM and key from donor car then program the CIM unit to the car using my diagnostic equipment Delphi ds150e it's a genuine model not Chinese copy ?

Try to find more experienced locksmith or electrician. If someone make eeprom jobs and have proper programmer, send him CIM module and he will generate transponder from it. Tango can do this this job.

Tango needs to modify the dump to add the key. So you need virgin key with remote section. Tango reads the key/remote then add it to the dump you must write back to cim.

you can buy used cim (with key) and change it ,then program with tech2. I think it is the easiest way

Hey y'all I have the same job. Ish. 2004 Saab 93. It's to make keys for a tow yard. 1st off. Tops to anyone who can pop off the air/gas bag. Your my hero.
The tools I have.....but don't know which ones or how to do it.
Abrites VAG all key software only, but it does have some epprom dump capabilities right?
Arlabs full set kit chip/epprom reader.
CN900
Red pin loader
RWPROG

I do not own a tech2 ( but wonder if the ones on China sites are worth a buy just with a Saab card.

So without a tech2 is it possible to program a key and the remote?

thanks.

I am the maker of the penloader red or blue that will virgize the cim without removing the EEPROM. But still need a tech2. So very best and cheapest will be the RwProg and tl866 EEPROM reader. RwProg cost $400.00 and the tl866 cost $36.00 so under $500.00 to get the cars started. The tl866 will not read in circuit but with small bridge on the pcb board it will read in circuit. If you search my posting I explain how to repair it. I also posted about how good the RWProg program is for the money. There is big money to make off Saab still, that why there little info. Out there.

THANKS Ray Ray. We've chatted once or twice with questions I had about the Red penloader (are there updates for that tool?) when you all released it. It was my gateway drug to stepping up the auto game from only OBD type of key makes. I got the RW prog on your trend on here. I also got the Andromeda research labs locksmith kit as a recommendation from one of the nice guys out of....who ever makes auto smart. Who also recommenced me the Abrites for VAG, but only VAG. The Andromeda tool is super nice. 2 reasons. The instructions are simple to follow for each process. from install to reading and it does more than 8 leg chips. and Just like you all's Red penloader, if I had questions I was able to talk to someone for the answers. I was so intimidated with chip reading and read the instructions. Loaded up the software. called Andromeda in Ohio...ithink. And thanked him for making it so user friendly. he said that was a first time anyone thanked him. Normally complaining. lol I went ahead and got the 35$ tool you recommended above...cause I have a weird tool thing and you seem to know what you are talking about :P. Ill search the posts for your in circuit read.Compare notes with the Andromeda. and will totally be using the RWprog for the writing of the key. As when I asked Abrites if the tag tool would do it. I was told Abrites does not have Saab capabilities. Ill post what does what. Thanks again.

OK got a chance to give some time to the Sabb.. ARLABS EPPROM reader will read in circuit. From the emails I got from them(sunday) BUT I am having issues with the rwprogs side of the job. Ive made different readings at different voltages 3, 3.6, 4,and 5V. and tried loading those files into the rwprog. I keep getting the same error. "Wrong File In Buffer" Ive sent an email to rwprog and they are pretty responsive. In the SAAB keymaker it states to use the key with chip pfc7946 and start the car 10 times to activate the remote functions of the key fob. All this is yet to be tested. waiting for the fellow at rwprog to get back to me.

Well I jacked my saab job up and have to send a few modules off to get it all married. I have no Idea if reading the chip with 5V did it or what. Only the chip knows :) BUT if I had a Tech2 I could have just virginized the chip and done a reset with the tech2. So with what I have learned. remove the chip if you do not have access to a tech2 AGAIN remove the chip if you do not have a tech2 lol. Got a CN tech2 ordered with hopes if I jacked one up again. once I get all car working. Ill see if I can add a key and with that I should be able to do a virginized chip? I will post my jacked up job findings. 300$ plan B or 300$ paper weight. Cost to learn, but as long as you are enjoying what you learn dollars is secondary. by thee way I live in my moms basement :P
