Hello Speed,
assuming yours is LHD and 1.9 TDI too, try this coding:
113B200C09240000880B04E890200041310000
Let me know if:
-yours is RHD
-The engine is not 1.9 TDI
-your golf is 4motion version
-if you know brake system PR numers (should be in your service booklet or under the trunk carpet and should begin with "1", e.g. 1KZ, 1ZF, 1KD, etc...)
In that case I could provide a coding which would be more accurate to your car.
hid3
25th August, 2016, 08:03 PM
For everyone, posting coding requests - be sure to include as much inforamtion as you have about the car.
This is what's required:
1. ABS module part number (the part number which is labelled on the ECU part, not the motor part number)
2. VIN
3. Exact model of the car
4. Left hand drive (LHD) or right hand drive (RHD) model
5. Engine type (gas or diesel), power output and displacement. Engine code can be provided instead if known.
6. 4Motion/4WD version or FWD
7. Is there any start/stop ("eco"/"bluemotion"/etc) system installed in the car?
8. Is there any kind of TPMS? If yes, then what kind of TPMS - indirect ABS based (no sensors in each wheel) or direct system which uses sensors inside the wheels?
9. Does the car have ASR/ESP off buttons (in the center console)?
10. "Hill hold" function. Do you want it to be activated if possible?
If you provide all the information requested, then you can expect a fully correct coding which would be the same as it would be coded in the factory. All the information is important if you want to have a fully and in-time working ESP system.
Instead of all of the above you may just provide full car's autoscan and indicate if it's LHD or RHD model. That should be sufficient.
Once you get a coding, please note the important points:
(1) you will need to code the module and adapt all the related sensors in one ingition cycle. Otherwise, the coding will revert back to zeroes;
(2) I strongly suggest doing the adaptations of the sensors on ideally flat surface. Also, when adapting steering wheel sensor, be sure to center the steering wheel very preceisely. If it'll end up slightly off-center, it will cause car pulling to a side.
If it is your lucky day, you might get a coding offered with a "gift" - full ESP deactivation possibility. Once you have successfully coded the module and adapted all the sensors, you can try to fully deactivate ESP: press and hold the ESP-off button in the center console for around 5 seconds. Watch your dashboard, it should somehow inform you that ESP is not fully off.
So you got a coding, everything works OK and you're happy but you feel that a simple 'Thanks' is not enough? Then PM me, I'll give you the details...

Oh, so it's RHD... You missed that part, that's why it's so important to provide as much information as possible.
Anyway, here's your coding for RHD:
133B200C09240000880B04E890200080300000
You can try and code it tomorrow morning. I doubt the 1.4 engine powered Golf will have non-standard/bigger brakes. So I'm 98% sure this coding is the right fit.

Glad you got it working. Please adapt all sensors in one ignition cycle. Do the adaptation on ideally flat ground. Be *very* careful when adapting steering wheel degree sensor - it must be very preceise. If it's at least 1 degree off, it might cause car pulling to one side when driving (don't ask me how I know...)

THX for info you should consider making App for long coding, this is 'pain in the ass'.
hid3
9th September, 2016, 08:32 PM
Usually people shouldn't lose their ABS coding, unless they swap ABS module. To me it's quite strange here in the forums there quite a bunch of coding requests...
There are lots of different modules (e.g. for Polo-based cars, for Golf-based cars, etc) that making an app would be quite difficult/insane :)

sombody was here before me :) Every thin is done excl. ABS coding

Also, you're telling that the ECU is altered, the instrument cluster was missing. Could you please look up the VIN number in the blocks (Engine, Instruments, etc). Should be somewhere available among Measuring Blocks. It might be that the ECU and/or cluster might belong to different car and different VIN might be coded there
hid3

Sorry for repeated numerous posts but some hint here: if you are using VCDS, go to "Advanced ID" function and check VIN there. Check for both, Engine and Instruments. Check every digit and letter. Make sure everything matches. If it doesn't, post the recorded VIN(s) in those blocks.

Let's not give up!!
try this:
114BC012492300FC881303E492210041310000
if not, then this:
114BC00F492300FC881303E492210041310000
You don't need any pin or login for coding, just go to Long Coding. Then if the module accepts the coding, you will need to use Login to adapt sensors. But before that let's figure out the correct coding first!

Really strange.. Now you need to go brute force:
114B6012492300FC881306E492210041310000
114B600C492300FC881306E492210041310000

Also, this car does NOT have ALL-wheel-drive (4WD), has it?
hid3

Also, two important things:
1. Make sure your battery voltage is sufficient (12.2 V at least)
2. Make you you're entering a non zero WSC/Importer/Equipment numbers before clicking "Do It" when doing the coding.

Many thanks for lot of coding strings. Today I back home. Tomorrow morning I'll test all of codes and immediately give you a feedback.
First of all before coding or flashing always I connect external charger to the car's instalation so voltage has100% properly value about 13,2 V.
I can't test it now because I left my workshop, I was afraid of leave connected VCDS and key in ON position in car with Teamviewer to operate all of it :)

Which part in car decides that codding pass or not? gateway, immo, ecu? abs module?
hid3
15th September, 2016, 01:17 PM
It's thre ABS module but it does checks against some other, e.g. ECU, instrument cluster.
Let me think a bit on this and I'll probably provide some more codings...

Alright, please check the VIN number in CAN Gateway just to be sure.
A few more codings, but honestly at this stage I'm more guessing rather than using some logic:

This is what I'm seeing in autoscan, Instruments module:
1 Fault Found
00003 - Control Module
014 - Defective
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 01101110
Fault Priority: 1
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 255
Mileage: 124756 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2014.06.16
Time: 00:00:01
Quite possible it might be preventing the ABS from accepting coding. What's wrong with that instrument cluster? Any ideas on fixing the fault code?
Yes, I'm aware of 1KS PR code. In fact, even with wrong brake disc diameters set, it should accept the coding, just your ESP would not be so efficient as it could be.
11 means Standart LHD
14 Means GTI/GTD/RS/S LHD model
74 is being used for Scirocco LHD model so I just gave it a try.
Honestly, I'm out of ideas. Maybe someone else withh chime in.
hid3
15th September, 2016, 02:55 PM
Quick Google search says this fault code might occur once Instruments cluster was tampered with. Usually this mean odo rollback.
You can try this:
Check/Perform Instrument Cluster Service Interval Settings (Adaptation Channels 42, 43, 44, 45 and 49)
Or, I think, you can use SRI reset funciton at the first VCDS page. I'd suggest going through several SRI resets (various regions, time/distance, longlife, etc) and then ending up with the desired one you want to use. Then try to see if the error is still there (try clearing it)

I just think that reason of no accepting coding maybe this:
instrument clustar has been reflash from 8P0 920 892N (USA software) >> 8P0 920 931S (EU software) and during coding ABS pomp (USA software) there are some mismatches between each other.
If I'll find some one with VAS online SVM tester I do this coding.
Tomorrow I try coding with your string smokey08.
I want to know how many elements of car I need to make coding "on table"... :)
Gateway(19) Instrument(17) IMMO(25) of course ABS/ESP(03) everything connected with CAN and VCDS. What determinate ABS unit(03) to no accepting coding...
hid3
15th September, 2016, 09:41 PM
OMG what a coctail you have. Why was the Instruments software reflashed? I believe miles could be easily changed to km and Fahrenheit also converted to Celsius without an issue using just VCDS. Now seems you ended up with 'module defective' code. Obviously something went wrong during the reflash.
What else is altered on the car? Is ECU software stock or some kind of reflash?

I told that I recive this car in this state with two instrument cluster on back seat and with bypass immo in orginal ecu. I have another instrument cluster without def. (without DTC) and with this coding ABS looks the same. I take this car after same people "electronics" say it's impossible to repair it. I don't belive in impossible :)
All electric windows and slide roof not working when I start make this car.
Now only ABS/ESP pomp needs to be coding rest of car works perfectly :)

No matter if it works or not, could you please provide the ABS unit's part number as seen in VCDS?
Also, could you check your glove box and see if there is "SET" button? Or in the center console?
If there is SET button, I could enable TPMS function which is quite useful.
Also, is there a button in the center console with "slippery car" icon and "OFF" word?
If there is, I could enable full ESP deactivation with the button, but again, this depends on your controller part number

Before take my car for coding they ask me three times if for sure in the car is mounted ABS module exactly with the same part number like oryginal. If yes they can make coding for sure. Now I know if I can't coding ABS module with first 5 code string I don't want to waste my and your time and I go do this coding online. Price od coding I sent on PW.

J428 seems to be like Adaptive cruise module... Look at the front grill. VW logo, or lower grille. Is there any sensor in the center of the car?Based on your PR numbers, the coding might be slightly amended:
With front disk brake diameter (280 mm), 2 stage ESP-off switch and Adaptive Cruise Control:
A63B20F8092580FC650F02E8901F0181011000
With fron disk brake diameter (280 mm ) and 2 stage ESP-off switch:

With proper front disk brake diameter (280 mm):
A63B20F8092500FC650F02E8901F0081211000
Give it a try from the top one, down to lowest. Be sure to adapt ALL the sensors in one ignition cycle. Do the adaptation on flat ground (ideally empty parking space).

11 50 60 0F 49 23 00 FC 88 13 06 E4 92 21 00 41 39 08 00 no match :rofl::single_eye::torn:
My question is WHY??? if was nothing change in car configuration. What decide of matching long coding???
oudside temp.?
level of tank,
atmosferic pressure,
frequ. in radio ...
:aetsch: === my ABS/ESP control unit!
:giveup:it's me...

Short answer would be "hell knows".
Long answer - are you swapping US region to EU region cluster or vice versa?

I have done coding with string from last online coding: 11 50 60 0F 49 23 00 FC 88 13 06 E4 92 21 00 41 39 08 00
Answer: don't do this with Very Cool Diagnostic Shit... AutoCom done this in 15 sek. to confirm my thinking I do this again with offline KTS a little bit longer but success.

VCDS works very well for me. I can see you are using a clone with ancient version 12.12.0, That is probably where you problem lies.

Clone but good, not from China. I have orginal "not clone" device also but not in this location and I test it with this coding. Are all interface in your garage no clone :)

No one is from "China". I think Ross Teech is based in United states. The cable is just a piece of wire and some chips/electronics. The chip might be from China or wherever. But if it's not genuine, latest VCDS won't work.
If you get a genuine Ross Tech cable, you also get the cable itself PLUS lifetime software updates. So like every month you've got fresh software... And in addition to that, you get free support from Ross Tech. So you choose...

Thats over 3 years out of date add in rosstechs development time and the cars that it will work properly with are old.
I do have a few clones but most of my tools are genuine as they work out cheaper in the long run.

oke this is not thread about interface clone or not. I think that make ABS coding like wheel of fortun is not right way in this case.
I think there are special commmand (service procedure) to coding this ABS device, VAG CAN pro can do this without online SVM management :)
No one of us is not a master in this coding but every one can be if we have to know how its working.
In my opinion only VIN, TMPS, ECU, comfort module and Gateway decide to accept coding or not. How size of break disks can affect on coding accepting or not. Maybe ABS/ESP module doesn't accept sick front or/and rear breake disk size compilatoin (unsafety). Clever people discovery coding for configure many other settings in one common device. If I'm wrong just tell me this.
Coding is for customise device! This is no Comopnent Protection :)

Glad it worked. Make sure to adapt all the sensors in one ignition cycle, othervise the coding will revert back to zeroes and you will need to start over.
For best results, do the adaptations on ideally flat surface. Be very careful when adapting steering angle sensor. If you make at least one degree mistake, it might cause car pulling to one side (don't ask me how I know....).

Will get auto scan shortly smokey08, been a long few hours playing with the coding. so hopefully I've done it now.
I believe I may have sorted it but whether it was the right way to do it I'm not sure.
on VCDS BYTE 15 bit 6-7 asks whether car is left hand drive or right.
This car is a Uk right hand drive vehicle driven on the left hand side of the road
I changed the abs coding to left hand drive and it accepted and took away the error.
Everything functions as it should.
Can vcds perhaps have the byte logged in correctly or is it case of just luck?

Strange... VERY strange.
Firstly, it's byte 15, not byte 16 you are referring to.
Secondly, the "left hand drive" and "right hand drive" cars are distinguished by the side steering wheel is mounted. E.g. continental Europe cars are "Left hand drive", UK cars are "right hand drive".
So finally, what is the coding you suceeded with..?

Coding Below
Address 03: ABS Brakes Labels: 1K0-907-379-60EC1F.clb
Control Module Part Number: 1K0 907 379 BE HW: 1K0 907 379 BE
Component and/or Version: ESP MK60EC1 H31 0108
Software Coding: 16426012092700FA681206EA90210052380800
No fault code found.
I wonder what could cause this issue? Ive been speaking to my ex Audi and VW tech and both of them suggested that it may have been that the earlier MK60 EC1s had some coding issues and 1 of them on occasions has had this before.
What are your thoughts?

No idea, seriously.
I wouldn't say 1K0 907 379 BE is early module. 1K0 907 379 A* might be considered early one. OTOH, depends on what's called "early" and "late" in the context.
I don't remember if I have coded any 1K0 907 379 AT/BE/BJ for RHD car so your friend might be right. Next time if it won't work, I'll keep in mind this.

I did think the same when it came to the part numbers revisions.
Could it be a case of VCDS coding Bit issue?
No other module delivers any coding faults and the system seems to run correctly.
What would be the impact of having the coding this way?

I doubt VCDS is an issue.
All we do is supply hex-based coding to the module. VCDS is just a tool/interface for that. If you'd be doing that with VAS or any other tool, the effect would be the same - wrong coding wouldn't be accepted, while the correct one would work.
I seriously doubt that one bit might make any difference for ESP system. Also, bear in mind there are other bytes which indirectly code steering wheel - byte 0 and byte 8. And there you have RHD.
For ESP to function properly you must have correct brake rotor size set. And in your case, you are spot on. Engine coding is important too I think, which is correct on your car too.
Drive more, worry less. Happy driving!
