Hi!

Recenty bought the Xprogm 5.0 (green PCB and metal box), but I can't read Motorola MC68HC12BE32 and MC9S12BG128 with it.
Always get "DEVICE IS SILENT" message. Try to read an eeprom 95080 and read OK.
All licenses are authorized.

Can someone tell me, what is wrong with my Xprogm or am I doing something wrong?

Solved... No adapter, no read...

what i believe with this counter, is that is enabled when the software verify after reading .
but when you press ignore verify and you do verify with manual button the reading is perfect .

i was trying to read a micro st10f275 832kb flash and i have problem in veritification .
when i press ignore veritification after reading and i press make verify the result was that hte reading is 100% ok .

if the clone xprog can read 832kb micro it can not read 1kb of motorola processors?

i do a good and easy solution to read write hc05 ,i cut Vppr from the bottom of the hc05 adapter from IRQ pin and connect IRQ directly to 12vk works well

i have a problem to downgrade may xprog-m to v5 ,the pic explain the connection after using old x-prog v4.2 under windows me.It is now rs232 even usb :stickyman:link used under windows xp so i cant downgrade .


the problem solved ,it is good for new DKs to know that the downgrade from new xprog-box 5.3.6 and above is impossible yet without Mr.Darius .dnt try to upgrade.:manuflag:

Just for info use the HOLTEK wiring diagram for programming atmega64 processor without lifting any pins to mcu and supply all programmer with 12v not only 5volts to mcu but all programmer no problem

Hi can someone sum up what this tool can be used for in laymans terms, I understand it can be used to clear crash data from airbag EEPROMS but what else do people use it for?

Hi, I was thinking your 95080 seeming like the Status Register locked (where Xprog can't unlock it but UPA does, hence my question). I was simulating the case during giving you a reply yesterday. But maybe not now, Status reg. locked returns 'write error'

Try with some other SPI chips by connecting to the Xprog DIP8 socket.

So many variant and quality on market for these many year .

So you cant say not work if your not ... many peoples have good unit's clone.

And in many cases operator's - users make mistake in use.

Many peoples don have base education from electronic but want's to be GURU and MASTER reading only FORUM-s.

That is not right way.

Hello mates, my xprog-m was working good for 6 month, now it is seen by program, but when I want to read something, it shows- Initialising Hardware: DEVICE IS SILENT

check if you connect the usb cable in software you can seen the port that is connected.

press to read a memory and notice if the green lamp is open . if not you must cahnge the usb cable or port of computer.

if you see the green lamp measure if the 5v is always on in the adaptors if yes you have a burn mosfet 8pin in your hardware. i have repair a lot of times my clone xprog

i bought used instrument cluster for bmw e46 with "m35080" chip on it and i would like to buy hardware and software to change identification number and mileage on it.

therefore i?m searching for x-prog clone. where do i get a reliable and cheap version of x-prog or x-prog m?

it would be perfect if the hardware could handle EWS3 from BMW and the instrument cluster.

what's the device selected in 'select device'? HC11 in secured mode has no such option, it will use Xprog clock through the adaptor.

It worked perfectly until without knowing the risk I was running, I installed XPROG-box 5.4 on my computer when I was doing a reading and it asked me to update, register, and also update the certificate, the first two went well, less the certificate.

Hi Stefaudio, I understand that his problem is not at that far. The MCU clock source has been configured wrongly. So, need an oscillator (not a crystal) of something freq. of 2-8 Mhz to connected to pin XTAL1 and now he can play on his programmer again.

But if SPIEN fuse is enabled(in first place)in atmega,and you load some compled project file in which SPIEN is disabled and program dhis file this is end of serial comunication with atmega,ok but if you load same bad file with disabled SPIEN and befor***1077; you make mistake to loadit to mcu you can reed original fuse bits(where spien is activ) and dhere spien fuse is enabled just push OK buton and programmer will program rigt for you fuse bits.
I am not so good with explanations but i hope you understand woth i mean

from yesterday I also have problems reading TMS370 with Xprog-m, he just stoped reading tms370 mcu's and gives me bootloader initialising error all the time, tryed with 15V power and clearing tms and adapter but no success...

The problem solved.
Try to install soft following the instuction on the atteched CD on the clean WinXP SP3. I guess, the problem was in soft 5.0 installed before. Remove it before installing v5.3!!

I have setup security bits from upa usb example and thought that "true" in ponyprog means market bit...so I marked vice versa, and press write but I dont get message that write was successful, am got "device missing"

friends... i need your help badly. i bought x prog 5.3 with dongle(clone). when i try to read an eeprom(24c04), it gets stucks at "initialising buffer"and does not respond, needs to restart. So i downgraded software from 5.3 to 5.0. However every time i try, i comes to update process and keeps on repeating.

hi All,Could someone please offer me some advise...I'm new to using programmers (Xprog-M, etc...), when reading processors in circuit, in the xProg doc that shows you how to pinout the various processors they state which pins are for the oscillator. Must i bridge out the two oscillator pins with an oscillator, and if so, what one must i use? The processor i'm working with is a 68HC08AZ32 (2L52H). Seems like you're mixing up the two knowledges, reading in circuit of MCU's and reading in circuit of eeproms that working under MCU.

-reading in circuit of MCU's: NEVER EVER make a short circuit of their oscillator/crystal

(xprog docs show the oscillator pins just like a help info if need, oscillator in most case is a must to have when need the MCU running)

-reading in circuit of eeproms: in most cases it's advisable to make a short between the two legs of the MCU oscillator by a little wire but some time no need.

The MCU i want to read and write to is from an airbag controller, yes there are simpler ways to clear crash data but i'm trying to pay a bit of school fees here in hope that i can get a better understanding of how the devices work. Xprog lists the MCU under the device listing, although it shows that it can read 68HC08 family MCU's in-circuit i am not sure if it can read and write this particular one. When i connect to it in-circuit, it says that the device is silent. The connections i made were: VSS, VDD, PTA0, IRQ and RST.

Hi, i have a old homemade XPROG-T and it runs very well.
Yesterday I test my XPROG-M china clone in a 93C66 (dash Peugeot 207) and it fails.
When it read, don?t read complete, and when writes i get a device acknowledge error.
Real serial port don?t works.
Any sugestion?

I just bought xprog 5.45 clone and I can't even install the software on 3 different computers. I click on xprog-box5.45 ***26550;***26500;.exe and i get error:
"error reading installation file".
Then I click "XProgDesktop.exe" an I get another error and I can't read the charactors.
I asked the seller about it and I'm waiting for response.
