Passat B6 2007 lost "Long coding list"

Alright all,

So, I've bought a new radio RCD 510, but my battery went flat. After some reading went to a garage with ODIS Engineering and tried to flash the gateway to 1K0-907-530-K @ 0178 . Something went wrong and the car "DIED" - all the information on the gateway was GONE! And because I'm stupid, forgot to save the long coding list. The mechanic there, fitted newer version of the canbus (AF), but without the coding list in VCDS [19] gives an error (detects that is not for that vehicle or something), revers light and fog lights doesn't work.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, as I've been trying to fit that radio for 3 month now. Thanks.

Car specs (see pic):

VW Passat B6 (3C) S (Sedan?)
2007 2.0 TDi 140 BHP Manual
Base model without extras (cruise control, rear el windows, seat heating, climatronic etc), just air condition.

i have exactly the same car
and i think you have reprogrammed the wrong file to the gateway
mine wasnt the K.178

my gateway
Address 19: CAN Gateway Labels: 3C0-907-530-V1.clb
Part No SW: 3C0 907 530 C HW: 3C0 907 951 A
Component: Gateway 007 0048

as you can see its C WITH SOFTWARE 0048 ON IT NOW (OLD WAS B with 0040 software, if i remember correctly)
i used odis and the file 3C0907530B_0048.sgo which then programmed the gateway to the above specs
I changed mine because of battery drain after installing a rns510
long coding you can sit and work out with vcds
you only need an idea of whats installed on the car
if you dont know then just code the things you think you have and the scan each time to see what fails
if you get what i mean

Yes, 1K0-907-530-K @ 0178 was the wrong file and messed up everything. Old version was -C @ 0070. With the new gateway fitted, the guy at the garage manage to clear most errors ,apart from [9] and [19] witch according to him, requires the long coding list from same model car as main.

If you have your auto-scan log at hand, can you PLEASE post it? I'm not sure what exactly he's going to do, but that's what he told me I need. Thanks.

well i can say those codings work fine on my 2007 (56plate) passat b6 2.0 bkp car
the gateway coding might need some changes on yours as its setup for rns510 not sure if its same settings for rcd510
but should get you in the right direction :)

if he has vcds then he should really know how to sort this out
from my long coding all he has to do is go int the helper and change whats ticked and not ticked untill he gets a scan with no errors

Quick update: apparently the new gateway is not for passat and rejects the coding. I've ordered this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Newest-OEM-VW-Canbus-Gateway-For-VW-Passat-B6-Jetta-MK5-Golf-MK6-Touran-Skoda-Octavia/1824812044.html that will arrive in 7-15 days and I hope it's a fix. Thanks.

That's the wrong 1 too
You need the gateway 3C0907530 A,B,or C version
If you get a version C then reflash with 3C0907530B_048.sgo file and it will be fine

Ordered the second one and canceled the one from Aliexpres. Got @0048.sgo from here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/412480-Gateway-File-3C0907530C-Passat and will flash it when possible :)

Update: Left the car with the same mechanic yesterday and went to collect it today, BUT he told me, that the gateway wouldn't flash (sad face). What a disappointment. I give up - after 3 months of paying here and there, the total is this: over 240 pounds and battery drain. I'm off to remove the radio fuse before it sucks the life of the battery.

mate i think your mechanic has shit vas5054
this gateway is easy to reprogram
i did mine on my driveway when i had battery drain after installing rns510
i first tried with my vas5450 and didnt work cos vas was shit so bought another with amb2300 module in it and that flashed perfectly
if you was in uk and willing to travel to mine i would flash it for you too free of coarse

just to add .. i dont think your original gateway is dead either, i think i could reflash that 1 too

probably a bit too far mate im in west yorkshire
but i think the problem is your mechanic and his tools mate
this gateway flashing should only take around 30 mins from start to finish tops
