vw 2007/2008 odometer correction

hi all

I have a supervag 2.0 and also an obdstar x300m

I have tried both tools on a 2008 scirroco 2.0t with red led cluster and also 2007 Passat 2.0tdi with a similar looking cluster

when I try to correct mileage on the Passat noth tools say something along the lines of 'fatal error' and then the clocks go off and have to disconnect battery to get them to come back on

on scirocco the same thing happened but airbag fault also which I had to reset via vag com

tools work perfectly on a 2007 leon fr 2.0 tdi

any help or advice on what can be done on this age of car?

how can i tell if dash is nec24c32 or micronas cdc3272 for example?

would vag com tell you or where can i find out the information?

i dont think x300m can do old type red led cluster (at least i couldnt do it one time).

supervag is very bad.

so i think you'll need a better tool.

NEC is UDS and is mostly BLUE socket and is 2010 up
RED display is Micronas

black/white and color is NEC with 32 pin connector
red/blue is Micronas with 36 pin connector (but sometimes can be Visteon also)

If you specify partnr then many of us can tell if it is NEC 32/64 or Micronas old/new.

I was led to believe that x300m was a good tool

Ao 2007/2008 is a bit 'old' for x300m?

Sems to work well on later stuff

Can be a bit scary to use though!

Seems strange supervag hood to late 2006/early 2007 and x300m good for 2010 on bit neither will touch the group of vag cars sat in the middle

I have personally done 2016 ford focus and fiesta with ease with x300m

Most likely you are refering to "Micronas new" which is supported by AVDI, XHorse, M-Prog and more ...

Tbf i need something that will cover pre 2008 cars from all ranges...vauxhall etc

I bought carprog clone but i dont think i can trust it

Supervag 3.0 is meant to work

I have not tried though and based on peoples thoughts on here on supervag stuff i would not make the investment
