Hello,
I've been doing a lot of research on tools which allow the reset of Opel ECU's to virgin. I've come accross a number of options with include:
*OpCom
*Abrites FVDI
*CarProg
*Smok
What is the best software in terms of range of models covered? Also, am I best buying the genuine version?
Thanks

Does Carprog have better support? Also is there any way to reset ECU's with dealership software/tools (MDI/SPS etc)

To reset opcom is super but you must have pin.

PIN isn't a problem, just need it for reset procedure. Can OPCOM work on bench?
Thanks

Yes OPCOM is the best if you have the pin of the donor car, if you dont have it carprog is the second tool you need . OPCOM CARPROG Dynamic duo.

Is it possible to reset ECU's with dealership tools? (MDI/SPS) or do they have to be reset first with OPCOM/CarProg?

Yes it's possible.MDI and tech2 can do this. You only have to know security code (pin).

Thank you for the clarification. Do you have a rough guide on how to program a donor ECU using the MDI or Tech2?

For cars above 2009 you have to buy license because programming ecu can be done online only. (If ecu was reset or is new)
If you have pin, you can reset used module but only in car where was first installed.
It is not possible to reset module if you have not car with which it is programmed. Even if you have pin.

Thanks for your reply. I have online programming (SPS access) - so basically there is no way to reset a donor ECU with vehicles after 2009 unless you have the car? If you have the car how do you reset (what is the procedure)?
Also, for pre-2009 cars I need Op-Com to reset? I can't use MDI/SPS?
Much appreciated

Thanks for your reply Vlad. Is there a way to reset the ECU's without the donor car using the vehicle requiring the ECU with MDI? or on the bench? I plan to get ECU's from the scrapyard and won't have access to the donor car.
Also, will that reset ECU button wipe the VIN etc from the ECU or will it just reset it back to default settings? As I'll need it to work in other vehicles
Thanks

Hi Dear. Opcom and carprog are goods tools for can work in Opel, but some times the ECUs have security delay time activated, and in these case is better carprog.
