Dear soft-modded wii users,
I want to use uloader to play back ups on dvds, I have followed ade's softmodding guide for 4.2E.

I have tried muramasa: the demon blade on a sony DVD-R at x2 speed, but I get a dvd read error 1 on uloader.

I have tried other backup loaders, namely gamma 0.3 and backup launcher, these load a "exception (DSI) occured" followed by a stack dump and code dump.

I haven't been able to find much on this error, so if you can suggest something I'd be grateful. I have heard that doing a patch on the iso first then burning helps, can someone confirm this?

NB/ I'm using a mac, namely why I haven't gone down the usb drive route, there is no wbfs manager for my OS.

Yeah, I got the cios 38 rev14 installed (well it should be as I have it in my apps folder and followed ade's guide. I install again just to make sure). I'm going to try neogamma tonight, cheers!!

btw the link is invalid, but I can find it somewhere else no doubt

sorry about the broken link try this Digital Kaos - Downloads - neogamma r8 v17 boot.dol (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/wii/16/neogamma-r8-v17-boot-dol-1058/)
if you look in recent wii posts it tells you how to install it http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f16/neogamma8-r17-84545/

Cheers for the advice. I still get "exception (DSI) occured!" followed by a stack dump then a code dump.

Should I try another game? And do you know if patching helps at all? Cheers

Ok, I've tried at x2 and x4 with this game, and x4 with another, all using a sony dvd-r. Since I'm using a mac I can confirm that my method of burning works (using toast 10 T or disk util).

But I'm still getting the exception occurs stack dump code dump, and dvd read error 1 with uloader.

I can't find anything on the uloader problem (except patching the iso) and the exception occurs happens for a lot of things so I am open to all suggestions?

(I will probably have to switch to usb drives)

With TBR I downgraded ios15, patched ios36, then restored ios15.

I have re-installed a patched ios 70. (IOS70-64-v6687[TB+ES_diV+NAND].wad)

I still get exception occurs.... I've yet to get any files on a usb drive so I will let you know how that goes

its dvd-rs you need but even then i dont think they will work, your best bet is to get a external hdd and play your backups through that with a usb launcher
