try to verify fuses. in the trunk you have this modules:
cd/dvd mark 3 or 4
tv module (optional)
phone module (optional)
radio module BM54
if the fuses are good, look at the red led from cd dvd unit. is blinking? check the conection from cd/dvd unit. you will see 2 conectors: blue one and white one.
if these are good......it's bad!!! your problem is BM54. (in 90% of cases BM 54 fails)

Indeed, drivergabriel is right. Almost certain, your problem is BM54 radio module. If it's the case, I may help you repairing the unit, I have repaired some with different defects and I know the system quite well.

There is more than one specific defect present on BM54. They vary from audio problems to completely dead module. Most common is audio power chips failing resulting in loss of audio on one or more channels. The solution is to integrate another power amplifier in the case of BM54 with audio signal mute and standby control taken from the main PCB. Original chips are integrated directly into the PCB and coated with epoxy resin and cannot be changed(at least I don't know who can do that besides becker maybe). You'll either heat and remove them from the PCB or isolate from the rest of the circuit by cutting traces.
Can you describe your problem ?

When the unit is totally dead, it's hard to make an assumption. It may be a software problem (corrupt flash/eeprom), electrical problem and the list continues. I've repaired a dead one and found out it had a faulty 5.0v switching power supply. Another was corroded by water. I even had one with the OASIS dsp blown.

Hi Guys if the if the unit dosent respond and the fuses and cables are ok I have found the Infineon C161 MPU's have started to go currupt.
There is 256k of ROM inside the MPU and 512K External Flash for main program loops.
The best way to test this is to use Nav Coder Shareware version and test the Ibus output which should be out-putting an ignition request every second even if you dont have the 29f400BC (External Flash) connected if you dont get this ignition poll then the C161 has problems you can replace it and re flash the firmware but its a 128 pin TQ type package and its a nightmare without specialist equipment to replace.:toilet:
