View Full Version : CA no card found / File too big
sapcons

Hello. After some problems with my DM800 clone I decided to upload a new image. Everything was ok until I rebooted the box.
The box came back with a 'CA no card found' error. No IP. Nothing.
I downloaded the "2nd stage pack", but all these messages do never appear in DreamUp. When I select the file to flash the box DreamUp immediately stops with a 'File too big' error.
Did I select the wrong BL file?
What else can I do?
Thanks for your help

just flash you bl back on and image will work 2.0 sim here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/other/8/clone-800dm-69-70-72-bootloader-1002/
2.1 sim here Digital Kaos - Downloads - clone 75 boot loader only for 2.1 sims (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/other/8/clone-75-boot-loader-only-2-1-sims-1001/) just flash it the same way you would flash a image take about 10mins to do ok

Thanks Kevin.
To make sure that we have the same understanding: DreamUp doesn't show any error when I connect the PC with the box.
This 'No CA found' error is only displayed on the box. DreamUp doesn't show anything re this.
It might be possible that I have flashed the box with the wrong nfi (for originals)

Kevin:
the box doesn't show an IP. The box starts and shows immediately the error. I scanned the network with DCC, but no box was found.
southpaw:
was this an old entry in DreamUp or how did you find the IP?

I tried all Dreamup versions with all different possibilities to force the flash button. Nothing works.
the Remote IP is not accessible. Dreamup always says 'File to big".

i used this one
Digital Kaos - Downloads - 2nd stage and force flash (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/other/8/2nd-stage-force-flash-997/)
instructions state
Now for the second sollution
1) Connect broken dreambox DM600/DM800
2) Open dreamup, press connect.
3) When you see second loader error popup, just press ok.
4) Open http://www.gsmsweden.com/forhike/sat/dm800/2nd_stage_pack.rar
5) Drag DM800_repair in front of dreamup, and press dream multimedia logo.
6) Now press the greyed Flash button, and chose firmware.
7) The flash progress will probably hang, its OK.
8) Open dreamup again, connect the broken box, press connect.
9) If all went ok, you can now flash box again, (Use only serial
communication)
I only got as far as step 3 , and dreambox display then showed " http mode 192.168.2.24"
entered this addy into browser and uploaded as per normal routine

1) Connect broken dreambox DM600/DM800
--> PC to DM via cable, right? Is it necessary to connect both (PC and DM) to the LAN?
2) Open dreamup, press connect.
--> insert power cable, right? How about the LAN settings? Anything required here (tick the box, put in IPs?)
3) When you see second loader error popup, just press ok. ---> The error message never comes up.

here is how i fixed , bit vague as from memory ,
1 , null cable pc to dm800
2 , ethernet cable from router to dm800
3 , open dreamup , press connect
4 , put power to dm800 ,
(try both ways , with "network use" and without)
5, on mine , dreamup loaded somethin , no error popups , and dm800 screen changed to http mode with addy
6 , load new image with browser using addy from display ,
Are you using a proper com port connection or one of those usb adapters , as i know these adapters to be troublesome
sapcons
14th February, 2010, 05:54 PM
ok. I give up.
I did it exactly like you described. In Dreamup I case see something like 'probing IP'. Nothing happens.
Both LAN LED's on the box are permanently on. Maybe the ethernet connection doesn't work anymore.
bad, pretty bad... Olympic games and no HD :(

hi
what you have to do
1-run dreamup , connect DM800 with cable
2- under dreamop select network and in the remote ip (box) put the ip you want for your box
3-now switch on the dreambox, dreamup will prepared the box for flash
when ready for flash
4 take the remote ip (box) then follow the procedure through the web now
192,168.xxxx.xxx
will get to the upgrade firmware page
This will force the box on bootloader mode
I hope this will help

are you 100% sure the cable is a nullmoden cable as other cables look the same but are wired diffancely
:reddy:
sapcons
14th February, 2010, 07:14 PM
Yes. It is a Nullmodemcable. I used it for several 500s. I believe there is something wrong with the LAN adapter. As I wrote before.. both LEDs are permanently on and I can't see any network traffic.
Even if I insert an IP in dreamup it cannot be found. A ping gives no reply.

try this
To explain all qestion about file to big!!
1. switch on enforcer press enable
2. Run dream up and press connection
3. Switch on dm800 (should send now BL to box)
4. If dreamup succesfully send BL to box (doing this automaticly when you plug in power cable to box)
5. shout down dream up and enforcer
6. shout down box, switch on dream up (just dream up! press connection)
7. switch on box
8. now when everything goes ok, you are able again to flash box
*special DreamUp & enforcer:
*ttp://rapidshare.com/files/289346941/2nd_stage_pack.rar http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/wink1.gif
or this
-plug the power and keep pressing the power boton till the box gets and IP and writes STOP
dont give up mate , others have had this issue and managed to recover

http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f34/no-ca-found-file-big-fix-73198/
sorry , just seen your post at bottom
try this
the error is actually saying that the loader cann't detect a security chip - do a prayer and open the box and check if you have one (should be glued to a small SIM card reader).
If everything looks OK, try pressing the CA chip softly into the reader - maybe it just went lose

How long does it take to transfer the BL to the box. I can see in this enforcer window the blue/red bar going back and forth. what does this mean? is something transfered?

why , do you have another working dm800 ?

Now for the first sollution.

2) Open dreamup, press connect.
3) When dreambox is found by dreamup, insert Null-Modem cable in
the broken dreambox.
4) Press flash button, and chose a firmware.
5) The flash progress will probably hang, its OK.
6) Open dreamup again, connect the broken box, press connect.
7) If all went ok, you can now flash box again, (Use only serial

Ok. I connected the 2nd DM800 and startet DreamUp. Box was found by Dreamup, BL uploaded. Disconnected new box, connected broken 800er.
Display switched from error message to dhcp and a IP is now shown. Selected Image and since almost 5 min DreamUp says 'Calculating checksum'.
How long does it usually take?

I now have the exact same problem as above I have tried different techniques as recommended above, the only way I can get anything is to use enforcer, but this doesnt change the error message on the screen of the DM. As soon as I try and flash it asks which file and no matter what file I use it always says "file to big". Can anyone help ppease???

Hi all, thanks for the support. Problem now fixed. It turned out to be a faulty or the wrong serial cable. As soon as I attached the correct cable all 'file too big' messages disappeared. Dreamup worked OK, no enforcing. I attached both serial and network cables and it automatically uploaded a loading routine which then enabled me to uploaod via http the bootloader 76d. Cheers all.

Hi.
I finally found a solution for the : " '' is not a valid integer " and the " file too big"
(not sure you have to do it but it did worked like this ;-))First connect rj45 crossover from DM to PC.
Connect RS232
Open dreamup (1.3.3.4 not patched) click connect
Then hold the power button and plug the power!
Tata, you can flash by RS232 :-D
