this IC have bad reputation of kvality when you conect and disconct lotof tme USB during software check.

Can anybody provide the good quality picture of the 2nd board.
It seems some Clips are broken by the defects of power supply line, rather than AN2135SC itself.

I think I am missing some elements on the 2nd board.

I have bough from china a Can Clip last year.I used it two times just on cars nevest like 2000 and it work.But the first time I uset on older car(Laguna-1998) do not work.Then I move quick on my Megane II 2006 and it work.
After couples of day I must diag. a other old car Clio I and again not work.Again I muve to my car and work.
Please tell me what do you think about this.
Can bee software problem or hardware problem?

I had the same problem,but when I wroted the VIN the application doesn't go further .
The problem was from soft ,I used partition magic ,I hided a partition and put a new windows on that partition and only Clip without anything else installed and now is working

I have problems with my clone clip. It will not read the vin (stops at 98% & reports error), it did the first time I used it. I think The firmware update in v95 is the culprit. Also when attempting reprogramming it would ask for the clip software serial no. I don't get this now. When I attempt reprogramming it scans & stops with 'disconnected' If I try consult a computer it gets to the approval no. request & that's it. I have tried this on two Espace v6 2001. Am I stupid or is this a fault? Is there anyway to backup the firmware or update the chip that will work with the latest firmware updates.

In the failed CLIP the ISO and the CAN led green is lighting.
It fails lot of times, and dometimes go well. I tryed with a new USB cable and same...

I have read that even original clip sometimes will not read the vin no. You should continuity test the cable end. Unscrew it from the main body & check that the cable to circuit board is ok. The connectors are not good quality. Maybe you can swap parts from one clip to another to prove if one is faulty.

I would suspect a poor connection of the probe to the clip. I have had this & a disconnect/reconnect fixed it.

i have three boken clips sent to me by third party have two good cypress chips swapped to the three units all had no iso and can light.

all three units came back to life iso light now on and can light on

only prob is software wont update not your problem

my question to you all is i can get cypress chips but there is a minimum order of 20 and there ?25 each if i get them and put detail instuctions on how to swap(you need hot air soldering gun for maplins ?32) and put on e bay would any one be intrested.

hi everyone
i have an original clip from 2002 i think, the laptop hdd broke down, but that day the sonda was fully functional.the laptop was old and had win98 on it so:
i installed same clip software from original cd on another laptop with xp using the clip.reg trick from this forum (thanks DK) because on original laptop with another hdd and win98 the software asks for registration and the original vendor doesnt exsist anymore (i dont know where to ask for a reg code )
when i connect the usb from the sonda to the laptop it only asks for 2 drivers and then silence..
i am sure that the sonda is ok , because the only thing i did was to conect it to usb after conecting it to the car..
in device manager i only have the devices discovered, diaghub and diag usb something...
the sonda and software is original, the sonda doesnt have any leds so i dont know what is discovered and what is not
the four .sys files are in my c:\windows\system32\drivers
any ideas where to start?

If you are going to buy a clone then check out Alibaba.com Wholesale Platform - Get wholesale products from China wholesalers! (http://www.aliexpress.com) you can search many china companies. It has a feedback rating similar to ebay. Also the supplier does not get paid until the goods are delivered. If the goods are not shipped within 5 days the order is cancelled & your credit card is refunded automatically, no need to contact the supplier.
Also check out ebay of course. But first check the advice in the thread on buying from china.
$600 is a lot of money for a clone, You could get this in the UK for around ?300 or less.

Does the green light blink when you try to communicate with car ? I also have problems because interface wasn't reconised by windows and the light keep red on diagcom.

I dont think you can go by what you see in the photos. I doubt they have taken their own but copied from another website. With the china clones I think it is pot luck. I am sure they are made by peasants in their sheds at home. Get it from a good source & if it doesn't work then you send it back. From what I read above it looks like some suffer with poor quality chip sets or they are damaged in manufacture. I can't imagine they test them before sending them out.

Is there any manual for using ddt (especialy coding injectors, because the rest , read failures, erase, live data is working like a charm)

success at last:
the ecu was dcm 12 l4c71 and i was usig autodetect, and autodetect selected first ecu file (dcm12 - l4c71 - v6.0) that matched, a file which doesnt have the injector code part.. manually selected dcm12 - l4c71 - v6.2 (a newer version for same ecu) and the injector reprograming screen apeared as normal

hi all! i tried to install v94 clip softfirst time i tried to install drivers - all 4 drivers was found, and then 2 devices appeared in device manager JCAE CAN and JCAE ISO and 2 red and 2 green led was active but clip software didnt recognize probe - vin window didnt appear.

then i tried to install v97, and when i connected to the car (Scenic 2004) only can drivers was installed and green can led turned on, and iso green led was inactive. only red.


could it be that v97 updated firmware of my probe?
or may be interface is faulty and need to be rpaired or replaced?

I bought a chinese clip which made one correct diagnostic with v.97 then refused to work with the following message: probe reservation error. I tried older clip software versions and found that it works with v.53. Of course, I tried several laptops on xp.... The green can light does not light up anymore nor blink anymore. The red can light and the both iso lights work correctly. I checked and improved the inside connections but with no succes.
The chinese merchant does not answer to my mails and has maybe disappeared...
Has someone any idea or advice, please!!!!!!!!!!!

I have similar problem, the other red led 5V via USB from laptop dimming from the beghinnig... it was the blue USB cable poor quality, I replaced and now work fine. TIP' Anyone having trouble with usb then you should try a powered hub as your laptop usb socket may have trouble supplying enough volts.

my problem with Clip clone is different, namely all drivers install themselves correctly, lights ISO, CAn etc. work fine, probe recognises VIN, then I switch to main menu where I can choose controllers to be diagnosed, and then problem starts...

sometimes probe can connects with the controller ( anyone, for. ex ECU ) but after a seconds program automatically turns me back to main menu, or sometimes probe cant connect with controller at all.

Oginally I got software V96, but I try to use it on V100.

Any ideas what can be the problem with?

Did you find what caused problems with power supply? I have similar problem with my CLIP clone and I am ALSO pretty shure that problem is somewhere OUT oF cYPRESS chip (damn CAPS lock:banghead:).

Use Winrar, or Winzip, either is good.
If you could NOT open it, or opening give you errors, then your internet connection is bad!

Try to save/load it again!:boxing:

I have search LT1766 and find it on "2.JPG" PCB or POWER DIODE LINE is on "1.JPG" PCB it's correctly ?
But on pin 10 I have 5.11V ....

There have been many threads on DK in the past that have delt with the poor quality chinese clip. Some of the install & repair issues have been mixed with software threads that have now been removed. I am not a clip expert but have given advice when I think I can help but can only do so when I have had time to be on-line. Sorry not to be of help to you.

As i told - GREEN LED on each PCB indicate stauts of SYSTEM it means processor system (CPU+FLASH+RAM) for e.g. CAN, status ok and usb link ok if green light, so problem could any where - CPU RAM FLASH USB MCU (AN25xxx)
Probably it can be these components soldering of FLASH.

Go step by step.

1. Connect Clip to power 12V and USB to PC
2. Check wich USB device of Clip ok. Should be HUB *Generic or Cypress), ISO bla bla bla and CAN etc.
As I understood HUB and ISO ok, so check Device maneger for unknown device. If after connecting Clip to PC you see unknow usb device - check it PID and VID. If PID VID = 00000 90% problem with AN25, if PID VID have Id somthing like 24F56 etc. check AN soldering, EEPROM soldering and content of EEPROM.

Or you can just try to replace AN, RAM, Flash, power IC 3,3V, and CPU from ISO board. Shure Flash content is different but it will start and you will see green LED light on CAN

Resume: Check soldering on CAN pcb, USB wires, socket small, AN RAM FLASH (AM29F800) CPU MOTOROLA. If no effect - replace AN from ISO to CAN, if no RAM, if no FLASH if no CPU if no take coffe assamble back and send to your dealer =)

For Cy7C65113C-SXC i can take Beeprog+ and for An2135SC
I don?t find one programmer...

beeprog+ is very expensive, have you one advice for one programmer for the too IC?s that was cheaper...?

M8, the red led are for power, one when you connected to the car and the other one for connection to your PC with USB...

Sometimes cables are damaged OBDII or USB check it...

the obd cable has nothing to do, you did not understood me, when i am connecting can clip to pc, it is not installing all hardware devices.. my opinion is that it is not doing this because it is not seeing any other device then cypress hub,

There is no sense to use ddt2000 if you have and succesfully setup RENAULT CLIP. :damnmate:

DDT2000 is aimed for older renault cars which dont have/use CAN diagnostic protocol. It works with cheap KKL interface, and cars database is outdated and incomplete.

Renault CLIP, latest versions of original device and of course chinese copies/clones are aimed for newer cars with CAN DIAGNOSTIC. And of course there is embeded suport for older cars without CAN: ex.: Laguna I and Laguna ph2. Clio, Megane, with "old style" 12 pins DLC.

So, if you have CLIP, you already have functionality of DDT2000 inside of CLIP.

I see, (and understand fully, because it's same here in my country, a lot of old cars, with average age of cars in use about 10/12 years) :boring:.

And you are right, DDT2000 is somewhat less demanding and therfore a little bit more responsive than CLIP software. :sleep:

I think that both of those devices are about equally slow (which is result of Kline protocols used for diagnostic of older Renault Cars) in everyday use.

And both of those softwares can coexist on same PC. I have personally this situation briefly, when I acquire my first CLIP device. You can't setup DDT software to work with CLIP interface nor viceversa.

If you mean: Can I use CLIP device with other software ex. Lexia, PPS, VAS, answer is NO. :stupido2: You can not. Other software simply can not detect CLIP device. Its dedicated to CLIP sotware.

On the other hand you can't also use CLIP sowtvare with other devices, because as I already said, its software dedicated to CLIP device!

Thats of course my expireience and opinion, if other DK members have different opinion, please share it with us!:listen:

Please take a closer look from the beginning of the thread!

You'll find answer there, :hmmmm2:...

but, if you want to hear my opinion, then I think that you have malfunction CLIP device, ISO part of it is not functioning properly, and need to be repaired. It doesnt matter if you have both green LEDs for ISO and CAN illuminated, that is not a prof of fully functional CLIP device.

Check transistor for K line it is near the Data Laink connector .
Its conected to pin nr 7 at OBD connector.
Measure with osciloscope signal or if you don t have you can measure with multimeter.
When you try to comunicate you must have 12 V at pin 7.-GND

Bought two Can Clip clones from different supplier.
Both are working . What i found is that if car battery voltage are lower than 13.8 i cannot get connected to all units on can- line multiplex network. It works fine on older cars.
What i do now is start the car , connect with canclip and i get to have communication with all units.
Is there a way to solve this problem.
Both on V98.

what car is it? is the battery on the car ok? check earth points for loose cables
if you try to jump leads from another car, connect clip on obd connector AFTER you put the cables for jump start

Did you manage to tighten the multiplexer connector, the ones that have many pins from the module to the car?

I read somewhere that pins may be loose and affecting contact to the module and tightening the pin somehow got the connection going, can you shed some light on this?

To make my own cable it's not a problem but i don't know the name of the 2d part, the first part ODB2 is universal, but the second part ( circle part of the cable ) i don't know his reference.

I installed sw and asked me for only 2 drivers for ISO, after that ISO green LED is ON. CAN LED is OFF and also windows XP not asked me for that 2 CAN drivers.
Is this mean bad IC AN2135SC ?

Anyone have opened clip pcb to check where from need to receive this regulator IN voltage?
On red arrow no +5V on image,normally no 3v3 to blue arrow,but on green there is +5v
Also from back side near usb connis also same vol.reg and its have all voltages ok

i didn' remember from where exactly 5V is taken .
i think that it is taken from an IC (reference LTxxxx) , check using a multimeter and with interface powered on (12V) which pin is 5V out in the LTxxxx IC.

it is possible solder a wire from any 5v point in pcb to the pin IN of the 3.3v regulator

i had a problem with the 3.3V regulator , and i didn't find it in local market , i used a normal 3.3v regulator without ON/OFF and it worked correctly , except that the 2 red leds always on.

i dont know what cause this problem , but it is not drivers related.

i resolved this problem by dessoldering the flash memory 29FXXX from the bad clip and soldering it in another good clip.
power up interface and run software , the flash memory firmware will be updated. next , dissolder the flash memory and resolder it in it's pcb. finally delete all files with extension .s19 and .s28
this solution worked for me but you can only use clip software version used to update firmware in flash memory. and no other soft version.

First ask driver for cypress hub, its installed from win folder.
Then ask for all 4 drivers (without removing clip from usb port) after installing first 2 drivers as said MOBILTRONIC.
All drivers installed ok both green get on but firmware error still shows :(

Seems to me that you have a problem with voltage regulator circuit in your CLIP. That is common problem with cloned chinese CLIPs. Often this problem is combined with bad soldering, poor cabling and contact points.

This problem is likely to occur if yor tested vehicle have a bad battery, or vehicle with bad ground connection on battery (connection between minus pole on battery and vehicle chassis, that is also common failure on Renaults), try testing CLIP on vehicle with fully charged battery, or on vehicle connected on battery charger.:ciao:

I have one question. I have two bad can clip tools RTL2002 with the same problem, green led ISO lightening not. ON iso board its not 3.3V for AN2135SC. Voltage regulator its ok, 5V input ok, gnd ok, but on/off voltage 5V from processor missing. When i put 5V on pin3 voltage regulators wake up and made 3.3V for AN2135SC. then i conect clip to computer, led iso lightening and software stop on 20% firmware upgrade and its ower. I want to explain better ... for me is obvius...but for someone not !!!!

With software installed on laptop first connect the interface to the car and turn the ignition on.
Connect the usb cable to laptop and carefully install all drivers .... 100% all drivers !
When we are sure is all ok with drivers ..... 100% sure .... disconnect usb ...disconnect interface from car and turn ignition off.
Restart laptop and again connect the interface to car turn on ignition <---> connect the usb
and leds come up of ISO and CAN.....
Now start the software and we look what happened ..if work we are lucky .....

if firmware update stops at 20% the solution is very easy :boxing:

Exist some problems in hardware ... ISO pcb or CAN pcb

For bypass that error search for 2 files APLIISO.S19 and APLIICAN.S19 and rename this files to .bak one time ISO ...start the soft and ceck .... and one time CAN and restrt the soft and ceck...and you see where is the problem CAN hardware or ISO hardware....

If you have renamed the right file no more firmware stop at 20% but the problem on hardware remain and is possible use the interface only for ISO or only for CAN vehicles.....or put the interface in trash !!!!:coffin:

I tested and found when change "APLIICAN.S19" to .BAK extension than firmware goes to end, no matter if I put first usb or OBD in car.
So now CAN pcb problem, any known defects on this CAN pcb?
On CAN PCB I had already problem, not asked for CAN drivers and I found that no +5v to "enable" pin on L04A regulator. I just bring +5v to that pin and drivers OK, both green LEDs ON , but remain firmware update error
Also I changed on CAN pcb AN2135, but still same problem

Hi all i have the same problem with my firmware which don't want to upgrade. I have tried the solution to rename some file and i have found the problem it's the file APLIISO in this directory C:\CLIP\DATA\APPLI\PARAMS\. But i have let others file APLIISO.S19 in C:\ASDE\MODULES\ and APLIICAN.S19 in C:\CLIP\DATA\APPLI\PARAMS\ and it start.
How i can fix the problem ? is it a hardware problem ? because i can't use ISO function and there are many fonctions with the iso..
