Hi Guys

Anyone got the definitive solution for the Clip sensor upgrade problem.

I'm using Clip v94, when it detects the probe it automatically tries to upgrade the firmware failing at 20%.

My research here lead me to remove the RSRWIN registration artefacts but to no avail. I found a removal tool (CLIP_registration_remove_v3_d_k.zip (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/attachments/f104/11611d1266183872-renault-clip-v96-clip_registration_remove_v3_d_k.zip) ) on this site but it appears to be corrupt. Also noted somebody suggested installing Clip v85 or earlier, but can't find this version on the net.

The once and for all full solution would be nice.

Did you get this from my link? I just downloaded it from your link above & it has just installed here with no problems. Download & try again.

Do you have wireless connection on? if so turn it off.

I tried the download again this time on a different computer, still winrar reports 'unexpected end of archive'.

So I dug a bit deeper with a hex editor to check the file headers. The file arrived to me as a zip file. I renamed it rar and it opened correctly. The file within was then given the zip extension and it uncompressed giving me an executable.!!

The exe is an installer package which runs but asks for an 'Installation Password'. Any ideas?

As far as wireless goes, the laptop is a stand alone machine and not connected to any network.

I have searched but the only torrent I found has no seeds.

As for the registration remove software, any password or no password allows the installer to complete but it dosn't write anything to the hard drive!!

I have all versions from V2 best is V53 I will upload it.

Have a look on the opening page. look under tools and then connections.Check to make sure it is set to disconnected. I had the same prob..Hpoe it works.

Update

I have now installed V85 as per advice of some other forum members. This time the software detects the interface and goes straight to the vin screen.

After entering the vin I have full access to all ecu's except Air Bags.

I then tried with version 94 and the same problem raised its head with it looking to upgrade firmware.

Anyone experience a need to upgrade after v85?

It appears the device requires a firmware upgrade sometime after version 85.

No. you need to run a crack or manually edit the reg. Have a search & you will find it.

hi, anyone say why somtimes clip launch firmware upgrade at startup of clip? mine stop at 20% and error msg. somtimes firmware upgrading until 96% on probe and fails.

Use one of the downloads on the forum - I think by Qrius or Patrian or Diagnose64 - cant remember which - to download all the clip drivers again. uninstall your CLiP from hardware, then try to reinstall all 4 full drivers MAKE SURE YOPU DOWNLOAD THE Files which include about 4 folders/files per driver

- ALL 4 must be found and met with a message to confirm this when you install them with the clip plugged in vehicle side also - when you update your CLIP again once you are 100% confident you have all 4 drivers I think you will find this is a driver related inability to pull through the matching update firmware files.

I maybe wrong but this once fixed this exact problem for somebody. They kept getting the failure to update firmware using V94 or V96

Which then follows the next add driver wizard. It could be easily presumed that this driver had installed correctly. However it did not. You must get full confirmation which can be indicated by the start of the non approved windows drivers - continue anyway screen. And visually seeing the drivers folders uploaded to device.

MUST HAVE ALL 4 FOLDERS with multiple driver files inside each of the 4 folders

Uninstall your CLIP hardware from device manager

(ijdeally reinstall CLIP I would say)

PLUG into vehicle, then into laptop

Manully install drivers from the download driver folders - by poiting them to where you saved them

Be 100% sure you get all 4 confirmations of drivers being directed to the CLIP

Re boot after success.

Open up CLIP again, try to connect and you should get any necessary updates your firmware require without issue. you may find you dont get any message at all about this now.

Usually if 2 drivers are detected, that happens because the clip is not connected to the car. Please be sure that is connceted and check the cable itself. Hope this help.

i have firmware upgrade error only when i try to connect my clip to a megane 3, with megane 2 the connection is fully ok.
i use clip100 whit a clip clone.

Hey, i?ve got uploadet the driver and the firmware error tool...

i used this driver after i get the firmware error message... now it works fine from clip v96 to v103 and from R19 to Megane 3... if u have after Driver-update still problems to read live data with running clip (velocity, airbagresistors, airconditioning...) especially on megane 3 or laguna 3 reinstall your winXP

Usaly problem are:

1. Cant find USB Generic (or Cypress) HUB, ofcoure can find any usb device. Problem in HUB - CY7xxxx, electrolitic capacitor (yelow), soldering problems
2. Cant find (install ISO or CAN board) i talk not about drivers problem. This case focus your attention on
2.1. If cant find CAN - HUB Cy7xxxx, power IC +3.3V ( small one w/ 5pins, exist on CAN and ISO pcb), AN2135SC, EEPROM (24Cxx), CPU FLASH RAM CPLD (CY370xxxx) soldering or each of these.
2.2. ISO - HUB, IC +3,3V on ISO board, AN2135SC under ISO PCB.
3. Dirver ok, CAN and ISO GREEN LED light. Clip cant be reflashed from CLIP SW. Check witch GREEN LED (CAN or ISO) blinking when SW try flashing Sonde. Resolder FLASH and CPLD on CAN or ISO board.

Often we replace HUB, AN25xx, FLASH and CPLD (100pin QFP) and do resloldering.

Keep your attention - good Sonde CLip should pass SW update from any SW (V35....V100). If it could not pass it means you have more job what yuo think =)

If it works on your car then upgrading is not needed. You may find that you can use the reprog disk without ren.net access. Newer versions have firmware updates that may mess up the sonda & a new database that is all. If you search the net you will find newer software if you want to try it.

this firmware problem is really hardware problem. not software at all.
clip dont write firmware inside everytime , just check firmware everytime.
when cannot check firmware , then stuck .
cannot check firmware because problem hardware in interface.
only solution is a new CAN PCB board.

Also this firmware can be passed, clip will not ask firmware,but also diagnostic will not work ,will stuck after vin recognition when read modules, and will display hardware problem and diagnostic will stop.
