Lightbulb Best Recommended Box with HD and Nagra 3

    Hi

can anyone please recommend me a box that has following features:

Virgin Media Nagra 3 in North London area.
HD Channels (Net Geo HD, Discovery HD...)
Sky Movies and Sky Movies HD
Easy to set up (easy to install firmware and other things...)

    Websites for Firmwares and suppliers.

I have starview 3 which doesn't work with nagra 3 anymore

    Thanks.

    Hi

You need to go the sat route and the best box can be a matter of opinion but dreambox 800hd or vuo duo would be good.

As for an easy box to setup and cheap as well would probably be the openbox s9.

You would need to google c/s for these boxes as you would need to subscribe to a server.

This is an opinion and other people might recommend other boxes as well so just do a bit of homework for the suggestions you recieve.

thanks for your replays. if could tell me these informations i would be very helpful to me.

I got a Sky satellite dish without a Sky box. which box should I buy and information on its firmware and requirements? I guess i dont need to have a Sky subscription or Sky box because you are just pointing your sat dish at sky's satellite and using a box with hacked firmware to decrypt channels.

    thanks.

not quite as simple as that. you will need a cline, google cccam premium to get an idea of what its about.

The best NON HD box is DM500s cost about £60

The best HD box is vu+ duo cost about £350 ( this is a dual tuner, so similar to Sky+ )

The best of the cheaper HD boxes is the Blade. cost about £160 ( single tuner )

The above boxes are all for SAT. At this time there is no decent Cable HD box.

I would say DM800HD clone for a HD box with PVR.
Or if you want a cheap and cheerful no frills HD box then look at the openbox S9 at around 85 quid.

Non HD, cheapest and overall best supported is the Dm500 clone at around 50 quid cant go wrong.

Dual Tuner Qbox MiniHD looks very well priced at 199 quid, not sure how good the software and support is though.

DM8000 Clone can be had for 450, if you want top spec, better than a VU DUO, 8000 has quad tuner support.

All depends on whether your willing to put the reading and research in for Linux recievers, which will be easy if your already familiar with basuic networking, and computer terminology, FTP etc.

Otherwise a closed source reciever may be better for you, although they are a lot more limited and have lower amounts of features, lower spec hardware but are easier to use.

no, dont buy it mate, eurovox is dead on cable, go sat route, or use a private cable cs ring
