Default Digivox XL will not flash

    Hi,
I myself have a Digivox (silver) and have successfully updated the firmware with the latest AU fix.

A colleague has a Digivox XL which I said I would update for him.

Using the correct Digivox XL AU fix I proceeded only to find the following:

Using Downloader I click "Download". The progress bar on the PC doesn't move and Digivox XL display does nothing - just says "On".
It then fails on the PC and the Digivox reboots.

Could this be a simple case of a wonky serial cable maybe?

I've tried to flash with older firmware just in case the file was damaged. I have also tried a factory reset.

Any ideas? Any help would be great.

    Thanks,

    Eoghan

If your box flashed with the same cable its unlikely its that. I have had a cable that only worked in my com 2 that might be worth a try. I know it sounds silly mate but the box is defo on when your trying to flash?

    Yep - defo on.

I might pick up another cable just to see. Only got 1 com port. Thanks for the help though!

mate it might be worth trying doing a box to box transfer. all you are doing is flashing the image of your box to his. you can also transfer channel lists this way. worth a try and that way you might be able to establish if its the cable.
