There is a notice from virgin on one of the numbered channels stateing that the box you are useing is ilegal,can they tell or is this a notice to scare you.

i just got a dreambox 500c. followed the instructions.
i was like a kid with a new toy.
as i flicked through the channels i cam agross the same message on chanel tv031, i crapped myself. i have been informed by the person I got the dreambox from that it is just scare tactics. the provider does not if you are using a illegal box or even what channel you are watching.

Its a pile of nonsense - delete it or ignore it. They had a similar message on the old analogue boxes many years ago.
