Default Head banging Lexia 3

Hi
I recently purchased a lexia 3 v45 from an Ebay site (everyone clap) Either I am very stupid or this is PhD stuff, in which case I'm really stuffed.
It all seemed to install ok, however, I am asked for only a DAM code. Illustration shows it on the n/s suspension top others suggest it's on the door pillar. Mine is on the door pillar (406 HDI 110 yr 2000) a 5 digit code. I enter it but it never asks me for a Vin number therefore I suspect it did not recognise it since It just goes to a silly menu and does not show me how to get to any data aquisition from the ECU. Just leaves one guessing so I'm guessing I'm not doing something right.
All connectors seem good and I follow the prompts to the letter. I did not buy this intentionally as an illegal kit - I'm willing to pay for access to PSA database if required. Can someone with a good command of English HELP PLEASE

First of all Dam number is only 4 digits. It has no need to ask for Vin. Exactly what screen are you seeing?

Hi Ronan Ok I'll try the 4 digit one (typical don't mark it properly). The screen shot I get is asking for the DAM number in a check box - I understand some automatically grab the vehicle details, so do I assume this is the case and it is a bit slow to respond?
Also perhaps you can tell me where to get hold of a "Measure " scan unit as illustrated. Plus does the program need to be logged onto the online connection to work?
John

Hi now I'm really confused - I'm in a program named PP2000 ver21.14 that has a menu with all the peugeot models on - I input a 4 digit DAM code from the drivers pillar and then follow prompts until it stops with -"the ECU has not replied" So what am I doing wrong? I'm trying to read engine data which is what I bought it for. This program is so elementary - one of the menu offers a choice of engine Petrol and diesel when the diesel is selected it goes on to tell you that " a diesel compresses the fuel to burn" ..etc - oh boy no wonder the Peugeot dealer technicians are thick using a program like this.

Default PP2000 connection problem

Hello,

I'm trying to diagnose a Peugeot 307, but getting an error "the ECU has not replied".

I have a Windows XP sp3, PP2000 v21.14, program activated, downloaded all updates.

So i select 307 and program scans and identifies car VIN, but when i try to start diagnose, i get error.

Also I'm not connected to internet when trying to diagnose a vehicle.

Please advice

Thank you

@ woodex

when :"the ECU has not replied" you have 2 possibilities for wrong doing

1-The plugs from usb diagnostic unit plugs to the OBD car are not well comfort or are a bit loose:
/suggestion: simple reconnect again all plugs and restart the PPS software without any movement of the cable when using the software.

2-That online update sounds a bit dodgy, never update a unit with out the confirmation from the people supplied the original CD & unit.
/suggestion: try to reload a clean installation from the original cd of the unit.
(maybe lucky)

Note: maybe are other issues, but first have a look at the basic.

Tried both options already, no luck.
Is it true that you have to be connected to internet when trying to do diagnostic?

I suspect you have faulty interface, have heard many reports about this problem, but also check did you use correct dam/rpo number post or pm vin and someone will confirm, also has ecu been sent away for de-immobilistation at any time, I have had many with no comms via scanners but car runs fine in most of the cases we found vehicle had been de-immobilised (we suspect when this was done either some circuits where not soldered right or just left off), recheck usb/obd connections and also test on another car if possible.

P.S. also some screenshots of the window you are in will help (or even better how you got to that stage).

Ok, i'll try on another car, and make a screen shots.

BTW. I did not enter any of the numbers (DAM nor VIN), the systems scanned the car and got the correct VIN, and then i confirm to start diagnostic and got error.

Always use the second scanner lined:

<Peugeot Planet 2000>

The first one is for only online dealers diagnostics and configuration update, not for other unregistered people.

If your unit is under a warranty you can send back for replacement.

More information about the car that you cannot communicate, type engine, year,

after a automatic VIN found with the PPS soft. u have 4 options on the screen

1/Peugeot Planet Diag
2/Peugeot Planet 2000
3/Wiring diagram
4/Peugeot Planet Measure

You have to use the 2-nd option PPS2000 (double-click)
after that is the build code with first 4 numbers to driver door pillar (similar to the photo the PPS show)
